Today, on International Women's Day 2025, we come together to celebrate all women and continue the important work of pushing for gender equality in every aspect of society.
One of the incredible women leading the charge is Laura-Rose Thorogood, a true trailblazer who inspires us all through her relentless dedication to supporting, educating, campaigning, and advocating for change. Below are just a few of the remarkable achievements she has made in her career:
• Campaigning for equal fertility access, better fertility support in the workplace, and advocating for parental leave for dads and non-birthing parents
• Providing key evidence in the Birth Trauma Inquiry in Parliament, aiming to improve birth trauma outcomes for all
• Lecturing at the University of Cambridge, where she shares her expertise with the next generation of leaders
• Serving as a Trustee for a fertility charity, where she continues to make a direct impact on policies and practices surrounding fertility
• Volunteering at a local Nursery, offering her time and support to those in her community
• Lecturing midwives at NHS England and NHS Scotland, helping to ensure that inclusive care is a priority in our healthcare systems
Laura-Rose is just one example of the incredible women making strides in advocacy, education, and support for others. Her work reminds us that every day is an opportunity to make a positive difference.
