Hey everyone 👋🏻 I hope you are well and continue to stay safe now we are less restricted and life is a little closer to the old normal.
As you may have seen from my previous Facebook posts over the past year I was and am still very happy 😊 to take Donations of Faulty MacBooks and Laptops. I then Fix and Speed up where possible before giving them a full Antibacterial clean and passing on to a Child, Vulnerable person or Family in need 😊 👍🏻
It's actually always been a Hobby of mine tinkering with Computers and I am completely self taught. So I thought 🤔 why not add to it by helping others 😊? 👍🏻 Especially in this current climate.
I have now decided due to the success of my Donations initiative and the enjoyment I get from fixing MacBooks and Laptops to take things one step further and I am now expanding my Services to offer a Full Repair, Clean up or Speed up service to anyone who needs an affordable alternative to the high street computer firms. I charge per hour on a labour only or parts and labour basis. If I can't fix your machine there will be no charge and no parts will be ordered unless you agree to my quote first. I am not in this to rip people off like some companies I am just one guy that wants to help others and make a little money at the same time.
(Unfortunately I no longer take Tablets as there was very little I could do with them as they are not upgradable like most Laptops).
As of now I am installing the latest version of "Ubuntu Linux" Operating System on all Donated Laptops. Its fast its stable and it's very secure you will not need to install an Anti-Virus very much like MacBooks. The Operating System itself looks very much like Windows so it's an easy migration for those long term Windows users 😊👍🏻 I will also install the very latest versions of Thunderbird Mail, Dropbox, Zoom, Google Chrome, Firefox, Spotify, VLC Media Player and Libre Office etc. etc. so the New Owner wont really need to do anything but login and use it. I will include a Link on the Desktop to online Help pages however it shouldn't be needed 😊 Linux really isn't that scary I promise 🙏🏻. I will also include details of how to change the Default Password.
*Please note: For the Safety and Security of the old and new owner of each device the Hardrive is Securely Wiped before having a fresh Operating System installed*
As we have all seen from the News in the past year many many people especially Children are in need of a working internet capable computer more now than ever. So if you have a Macbook, or Laptop or that you would like to donate then please get in touch. I hope to hear from you soon 🙏🏻
I have decided that as of now I will not be accepting any Laptops currently installed with Windows XP. Although it is still possible to Install a Light Version of Linux on these Older Machines the time involved and the lack of features available to the New Owner plus the Slowness of the Laptops even with Linux I had to make the decision to say "No to XP Laptops"

*Please note: Some items may require investment in New Parts so on these occasions they may need to be sold to recoup the cost of parts, however thanks to the Lions this is now less likely to happen*
