A redirect plan is not an admin task.

It is revenue protection.

Every established URL can hold:

• Rankings
• Authority
• External links
• Returning visitors
• Organic revenue
• Years of accumulated visibility

When those URLs change, they need a relevant destination.

Not a homepage redirect.

Not a rushed spreadsheet created two days before launch.

Not a plan to fix everything once the new site is live.

Your category pages are probably more commercially important than your blog.

Are they being treated that way?

For many Adobe Commerce stores, category pages sit at the centre of organic acquisition.

They target people actively searching for a type of product, comparing options and moving closer to a purchase.

Yet many category pages are still little more than a product grid with a generic block of SEO copy hidden at the bottom.

A strong category page needs:

• Useful filters
• Logical internal links

• A reason for the customer to choose your page

The aim is not to add 500 words beneath every product grid.
