I hope this doesn't get taken down. Unfortunately this happens to some of the customers I meet now and again, and it puts shame on the IT industry, when there are many honest techs out there going the extra mile for their customers, day in, day out. It is a warning to anybody who is using this company who rips people off by charging a fortune for printer support, (£500) then puts remote software on their PC so they can create "new" faults, which they will then charge to repair. What lovely people.

Hi, I just want to warn people on here about a scamming company (called Oxyleon Group Limited) who claims they can set up your printer and solve all your IT problems for the sum of £500, which is in itself crazy. Here is an email below of what to expect, when they have carried out thier "work" on your PC, with some details of the scammers in it.

Support for Canon printers

I have been out to 2 customers recently who have been scammed this way. Fortunately, this last customer used a Credit Card to pay them so they should get their money back.

The service they offer also puts remote control software on your PC so they can further "invent" issues (which you wont have but they can put on your PC) so they can keep on charging you to fix what they have broken. You have been warned!

I cleaned up their PC for a more reasonable fee of £79, and removed all the remote control software settings and put their firewall back as it should be. I also set up their wireless printer properly.

Unfortunately, companies like this prey on a certain demographic (people who didn't grow up with tech) so I am reporting them to Trading Standards, etc.

So, another visit to the Gingerbread Family Support in Hanley today brought a great sense of pride that my company and I are doing our part to help in any way we can. We’re supporting this fantastic local charity by donating some tech—a few laptops for the people they support, and an iPad to help the staff in their mission. The laptops will make a small but meaningful contribution toward reducing digital poverty in the area. A big thanks to my customers, from small businesses like Quality Systems Consultancy Limited and GEI Limited in Stafford, to home users, who donated their old technology for me to refurbish, refresh, and give a second life to those struggling without tech in today’s highly online world.
