Satsecure is growing. Fast. And with that comes more opportunity.

We’re expanding the Leicester warehouse, increasing the number of products and brands we work with, and building more relationships across the industry. That growth means we’re adding to the team...

We currently have two roles open:
• Purchasing Manager - Leicester or Manchester
• Warehouse Manager - Leicester

These are both vital roles.

For Purchasing, we’re looking for someone who can take real ownership of procurement, supplier relationships, stock planning and the way our purchasing function develops.

For the Warehouse Manager role, we need someone who can lead the Leicester operation as it grows, improve the way things are done and build a strong, well organised team around them.

How do you properly test and maintain the Ajax EN54 detectors?

Detectortesters now have two tools built specifically around the Ajax range that make your job a hell of a lot easier... 🔥

The new Ajax XTR2 Adapter fits to the Testifire XTR2, allowing you to properly carry out smoke and heat testing on Ajax EN54 detectors from ground level.

No climbing up on ladders!

Then there’s the SOLO230 Ajax Detector Removal Tool.

It fits onto standard Solo access poles and lets you remove and refit Ajax detectors with a simple twist, without reaching for the ladders every time.

It’s also useful before the detector is even fitted. You can secure a detector in the tool, hold it in position and check signal strength through the Ajax Systems app before committing to the final location.

Two fairly simple bits of kit, but if you’re installing Ajax EN54, they're a must for your tool kit.

Both are now available from Satsecure, alongside the wider Detector Testers range including access poles, smoke and heat testing equipment and consumables.

How do you actually show a customer why one camera is better suited to their job than another?

You can tell them OwlView gives them better colour at night. You can explain that TriGuard can actively deter someone rather than just record them.

You can talk through why EasyIP makes sense when they simply want good quality CCTV at a sensible price.

But showing them is so much easier!

That is something we've been working on with the Uniview section of the Satsecure website.

Each of the main Uniview solutions now has its own page, where you can get a proper feel for what that range does and, more importantly, show it to your customer.

The OwlView slider in the GIF below is a good example.

Rather than telling someone that OwlView performs better in low light, move the slider across and let them see the difference for themselves.

If they are looking at TriGuard, you can show them what active deterrence actually looks like.

If they are trying to work out which range fits their budget and the job in front of them, there is more information there to help with that too.

We're adding more tools like this because quoting CCTV should not come down to handing someone a datasheet and hoping the specifications mean something to them.

Press it and the obvious thing happens. The fire alarm activates 🔥⏰

But the Ajax ManualCallPoint can do quite a bit more than that...

Because it sits within the Ajax EN54 system, you can build a proper response around the activation.

Trigger sounders and VADs.

Control outputs through the system.

Unlock doors.

Bring on emergency lighting.

Trigger other equipment.

You decide what needs to happen when that button is pressed.

You also know exactly where the activation has come from, with the device, zone and location visible within the system.

Then you’ve got the different ManualCallPoint options.

Red for fire, plus blue, green, yellow and white versions for other applications.

Depending on how you configure them, they can be used for evacuation, panic, gas leaks, water leaks, faults, auxiliary alarms or your own custom actions.

That is where Ajax starts to get interesting.

Because you're not just fitting individual fire devices.

You're building a wireless EN54 system where the detectors, call points, sounders, VADs and control devices can all work together around the site.

And if you already install Ajax Systems for security, you're working with a platform and way of commissioning that will already feel familiar.

Press the ManualCallPoint, the sirens activate wirelessly, reset it with the key and the system is ready again.

But there is a lot more sitting behind that one button.

It started with people trying car doors...

Nothing had been taken, but over a couple of weeks there had been reports along the same street. Door handles tried late at night. Someone moving between driveways. A figure disappearing down the alley behind the houses.

So the owner of one of the semis had cameras fitted.

One covered the drive. The other looked across the back garden towards the side gate and the alley beyond.

They wanted colour at night. Not just a grey silhouette, but the colour of a coat, trainers, a car at the end of the road. Something useful if it happened again.

And it worked.

But a few nights later - a problem appeared.

To produce that colour image, the rear camera's white light was illuminating the patio, most of the lawn and the conifers along the fence.

It was also clearing the six foot fence into next door.

Their conservatory came almost to the boundary. Directly above it was their son's bedroom.

At 11pm, with everything else in darkness, the light was hard to miss.

A few nights later there was a knock at the door.

The neighbours understood why the cameras were there.

They just didn't want a white light shining across the back of their house every night.

So what do you do?

Turn the light off and lose some of the colour detail you wanted.

Leave it on and keep lighting up next door.

Or use a camera that doesn't need to rely on it.

That's where Uniview OwlView Plus comes in.

Its large sensor, wide aperture and Wise ISP low light processing are designed to produce full colour images in extremely low light, without relying on supplemental white light.

The garden stays dark.

The bedroom next door stays dark.

Most gardens don’t need this level of security.

Then again, most gardens haven’t had more than £1,000,000 spent on them and been watched by over 4.5 million viewers worldwide...

That was the slightly unusual starting point for a project we’ve been involved with over the last few months.

The brief was serious.

Protect the property properly.

Protect what Mark Marshall has spent years building.

And create a system capable of responding at several different levels rather than simply recording what happened afterwards.

That brought Ajax Systems, NightSabre and UR FOG together on the same job.

Detection, surveillance, lighting, deterrence and a physical response, all forming different layers around the property.

It has also taken a lot of people working together behind the scenes.

Sean Lambert at in home cctv & security created the opportunity by reaching out to Mark, before surveying the property, designing the system and taking responsibility for the installation.

Ajax Systems supported the project with equipment.

Jason Hill and Device Smart supported the NightSabre side of the installation.

UR Fog added another layer of protection.

And Satsecure has been supporting the project throughout, helping bring the different parts together.

There have been site visits, long days, plenty of kit and the small matter of getting everything finished around a filming deadline.

Now, for the first time, we can actually show you some of the result.

Give it a small amount of ambient light and its low light performance can produce usable colour detail without relying on supplementary LEDs to light the scene. A huge advantage where you want the camera to be discreet or light pollution could cause issues with neighbours.
