This is Alan on our Müller Martini stitching line – but calling him just an operator doesn’t even come close.

Alan has been part of Chapel Press for over 40 years. Yes, he’s our Production Manager. But on any given day he’s also a motivator, problem-solver, machine operator, digital lead, mentor, and the calm head when things get busy.

At Chapel Press, getting the job done isn’t about job titles – it’s about people stepping up, wearing multiple hats, and taking real pride in what they do. Management and operators alike. It’s what all of our “operators” do… it’s what we all do. And Alan embodies that more than anyone.

Lithographic printing is over 225 years old — and it’s still powering world-class print today.

Invented in 1796 by Alois Senefelder, lithography was built on one simple, brilliant principle: oil and water don’t mix. That chemistry changed print forever — and remarkably, the core science hasn’t changed since.

• 1796 – Greasy crayon on limestone
• Early 1800s – Music and maps demand precision
• 1818 – Lithography goes public
• 1837 – Colour enters the game
• Late 1800s – Offset lithography is born
