🖨️ Is your 3D printer letting you down?
We recently had a 3D printer in for inspection — and found movement around the print-head and extruder assembly that shouldn't have been there. Left unchecked, that kind of play can cause poor layer adhesion, rippling, inaccurate dimensions and prints that get worse the longer they run.
3D printers are precision machines. Rollers, bearings, belts, carriages and the build plate all need to work together — which is why a proper service checks the whole machine, not just one part.

Gatley Computers repairs 3D printers for local makers, hobbyists, and small businesses — blocked AMS filament chutes, extruder clogs, bed levelling issues, firmware headaches, you name it. We work on Bambu Lab and most other major FDM brands, and we always try to properly diagnose the fault rather than just replacing parts and hoping something sticks.
3D printers are precision machines with a lot of moving parts working together — the AMS unit, PTFE tubing, hotend, and extruder gears all have to be functioning correctly for a clean print. A fault that shows up at the nozzle doesn't always start there, so we take the time to check the whole filament path rather than just the symptom you can see. It saves wasted filament, failed prints, and parts being replaced that didn't actually need it.
We're based in Gatley and cover Cheadle, Stockport, and the wider North West — but if you're further afield and happy to post your printer or the faulty part in, we can still help, so don't rule us out just because you're not local.
