We had a fantastic time at ITEC 2026 💙

Our team, Neil, Charlie & David and CareBuilder, were busy connecting with others in the sector, sharing knowledge and learning more about how technology is shaping the future of care.

It was great to be part of so many meaningful conversations, especially in the new International Networking Zone 🌍, a space full of ideas, collaboration and shared experiences.

Thanks to everyone we met, it’s always inspiring to connect with people who are passionate about improving care through technology.

Modern safety solutions combine smart devices, location awareness and alerting systems to protect staff wherever they are. 💙

These solutions can include:

✅ Lone worker devices: Small, wearable or pocket-sized devices with SOS buttons, two-way audio and fall detection.
✅ Location tracking: GPS-enabled features that help teams understand where lone workers are if they need assistance.
✅ Check-in and check-out: Simple ways for staff to log that they have arrived safely and finished their visit or task.
✅ Escalation workflows: Pre-defined response paths for different alert levels, ensuring no call for help is missed.

By putting the right lone worker safety technology in place, organisations can respond faster to incidents, support staff better and gather the evidence needed to demonstrate due diligence.

Many carers and support workers spend a lot of their day on their own – in people’s homes, supported living schemes or out in the community. 🏠

If something goes wrong and no one is nearby, getting help quickly can be difficult.

Porters Care’s lone worker and staff safety devices are designed to make it easy for staff to raise an alarm and be located fast, so they are never truly ‘on their own’ when it comes to safety. 🩵

Falls are one of the biggest worries for residents, families and care teams. 📈

Our fall detection & activity sensors help staff understand patterns in mobility and night-time movement, so they can put extra support in place before a fall happens. It is all part of moving from ‘responding to accidents’ to ‘preventing them’.

See our solutions like Sentinare and Vitalerter, both tracking activity and help keep your residents or loved ones safe. 💙

Most care homes are still set up to react once something goes wrong, a fall, a hospital admission, a sudden change in health. Health and safety monitoring means we can spot concerns earlier and step in sooner. 💙

Our contact-free sensors and smart alerts help teams keep residents safer, without constant intrusions or night-time disturbances.

How do we keep an eye on damp and mould risk in your care home? 🏠

We use SenseClimate, part of the CareBuilder platform. ✅

SenseClimate devices track humidity and temperature in rooms and communal areas. The readings are pulled into CareBuilder automatically, so carers can spot changes that might suggest a risk of damp or mould, even before anything is visible.

This gives your team time to act early, protect residents’ health and keep our building in good condition, all while keeping a clear record of what we’ve monitored and when.

It’s another layer of protection for the people who live here.

How We Spot Damp and Mould Risk Early? 💧

You may have heard about Awaab’s Law, which focuses on tackling damp and mould quickly to keep people safe and well in their homes.

We take this seriously. We use CareBuilder’s SenseClimate to monitor humidity and temperature in residents’ rooms. The readings are automatically captured within the CareBuilder platform, so we can see patterns over time and pick up early warning signs. 📈

If conditions start to look worrying, your team can investigate and act before damp and mould become a visible problem. To protect residents’ health and keep homes safe and comfortable.

If you’d like to know more about how we look after the environment in care homes & care settings, we’re always happy to chat. 💙

So, what makes CareBuilder different for Resident Safety? 💙

CareBuilder goes beyond basic call bells and gives your team continuous, intelligent safety insight that supports calmer days and nights in your service. Here are some key ways it strengthens resident safety and why it matters.

✅ Smarter Fall Detection: CareBuilder connects to smart fall detection devices and sensors that alert staff immediately when a fall is likely, even if no one is in the room. This helps reduce unwitnessed falls and shortens the time a resident may spend on the floor, lowering the risk of serious harm.

✅ Continuous Activity & Lifestyle Monitoring: Discreet sensors track movement patterns and activity levels over time, so teams can spot changes in mobility, restlessness or reduced movement early. That insight supports proactive care planning and earlier intervention, rather than waiting for an emergency to happen.

✅ One Clear View for the Whole Team: All safety data flows into a single, easy to use platform, giving staff a real time overview of who is safe, who may need attention and where to prioritise their time. This helps reduce unnecessary checks, supports calmer shifts and ensures the right person is in the right place at the right moment.

✅ Respectful, Non-Intrusive Night Time Safety: By combining sensors and alerts, CareBuilder supports night teams to monitor residents without constant door opening and hourly disturbances. Residents get better sleep and more dignity, while staff still have the reassurance that they will be alerted if something is wrong.

✅ Data that Supports Quality, Compliance & Families: Trends and safety events are recorded automatically, creating clear evidence of how risks are being monitored and managed over time. This helps managers demonstrate robust safety practice to inspectors and gives families confidence that their loved one is being closely, but respectfully monitored.

Meet John in Room 127, and how proactive safety supports his care 💙

John, one of our residents in Room 127, has recently been a little less active and a bit unsteady on his feet. Cathy, a member of his care team, picked up on these subtle changes during her daily interactions with him and knew this could be an early sign that John needed a bit more support.

To keep John safer, especially at night, Cathy added a fall detection and activity monitoring sensor into Room 127. This smart device now feeds John’s movement and activity data directly into our CareBuilder platform, without disturbing his rest or privacy.

From her CareBuilder dashboard, Cathy can easily see patterns in John’s activity, receive alerts if there’s a potential fall and track any changes over time. This gives her the confidence to act proactively by adjusting John’s care plan, checking in at the right moments and involving the wider team or family if needed.

With CareBuilder, nurses and carers have the insight they need to stay one step ahead, helping residents like John stay safer, more independent and better supported every day.
