It is with great sadness we share the news of the passing of a good friend and colleague.

Daniel Martin France (Dan)
Passed away suddenly on Wednesday 3rd January, 2024 whilst at Royal Stoke University Hospital. Dan aged 40 Years of Stafford.
Dan will be so sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and many friends.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held at Stafford Crematorium on Tuesday 6th February, 2024 at 12:00pm.
Family flowers only and donations much appreciated to Pet Welfare.

Customer ask us to find a cost effective used notebook.

We located a Lenovo L14 enterprise notebook with latest Wifi 6, bluetooth 5, USB-C and 4G LTE mobile broadband exceeding their needs. Not very old; The notebook was in like new condition showing little no signs of use, with the only part letting it down was the topcase/rear screen plastics showing marks and scratches which can usually be accustom with storing in a notebook bag next to the power adaptor.

With no commitment and showing the customer prior, they opted to refresh and refurbished the notebook replacing the part prior to delivery, bringing the whole notebook to same quality standard.

Whilst the notebook was dismantled the customers opted double memory/ram bring the total to 16GB

As part of this we also ensured: the notebook was reset with updates, and latest and greatest firmware done.

The unique challange meant a new boundry camera location would exceeded the cable specification and path back would cause great disturbance to newly renovated property to a exsisting CCTV recorder.

Employed for the challange we installed goto Unifi flex switch which designed for outdoor use with power over ethernet.

This enabled us to take an ethernet feed from a existing camera on the edge of the property split it, to provide both connection to exisiting and new connection to the boundary camera keeping the cable length within specification.

Cost saving - not requiring additional electrical work as can be placed anywhere upto 100m from source. Power is delivered through a injector adaptor placed back at the network termination, delivering through the ethernet cable to the switch allowing it to power not only it self but devices attached to it.

After installation with 2 port spare and already investing in the hardware in part, the customer has scope to add additional cameras to extending outdoor wireless coverage in the future at a reduced cost.
