🌍 Today is World Environment Day and amongst the many environmental challenges we face, the scourge of e-waste if often ignored. The stats are mindboggling:

🖥️ The world produces around 50 million tonnes of e-waste globally.
📈 E-waste is rising 5x faster than documented recycling rates.
🗑️ The legacy stockpile of unwanted e-waste weighs over 347 metric tonnes.

You might think the problem is worse overseas. Not so! The UK produces the second highest amount of e-waste per capita of any nation.

Our Sustainability Director, Sheryl Moore - MBA, has won the Sustainability Individual Award at the Lenovo 360 Circle Summit in Geneva, attending alongside our Director of Partners & Commercial, Nigel Adair.

This recognition follows a rigorous assessment process, highlighting how bold sustainability ambitions can be turned into real-world impact. While this award celebrates Sheryl's leadership, it also reflects the collective effort across Converge. Thanks to everyone for helping position us as leaders in sustainable IT.

Collaboration sits at the heart of the Lenovo 360 Circle - a sustainability community that brings together global IT partners to tackle climate challenges, reduce supply chain emissions, and advance circular economy practices.

🐕 Today is National Rescue Dog Day over in the US, and at Converge we're also celebrating those who rehome dogs into loving homes.

We chose to support local charity Brighter Days Rescue because many of our team have realised the pleasure of having rescue dogs as loving companions. Here's a selection shared by our team:

Frankie - a 'Chorkie' or Chu Hua / Yorkshire Terrier cross, who loves biting the feet of owner Stephen Holland's wife!
Poppy - Was rescued from a breeding farm in appalling conditions, she's now grown into a confident little ball of energy for owner Becky.
Fayth - a border-collie, owned by Angela Edwards, found on the streets of Ireland, cuddled up to her pups, who sadly didn't survive. She lost sight in one eye, but her cocked ear more than makes up for it!
Millie and Tasha - both owned by Sheryl Moore - MBA, with Millie rescued in Romania and Tasha in North Wales. Two loving dogs with personality.
Pixie - Rescued on the streets of Bulgaria, she particularly loves jumping onto Teams meetings with her owner Angela Edwards!
Mable - A rottweiler rescued in Stoke-on-Trent is doing amazingly well after a tough start, despite suffering separation anxiety owing to the love she has for owner Darren Dodd.

Today is about collaboration - sharing ideas, sparking innovation, and unlocking the full potential of sustainable IT. It’s fantastic to see so many people here: learning from industry experts, exchanging insights with peers, touring our IT recycling facility, and (crucially) enjoying our sourdough pizzas 🍕
