Windows 10 to be retired in 2025, as new OS unveils

From October 2025, there will be no new updates or security fixes for Windows 10.

Please be aware of the ever increasing phone calls from people claiming to be from BT or Talktalk technical department, or anywhere else for that matter. These are scammers

BT and Talktalk have no interest in what is on your computer and therefore will not phone you and ask to help you clean up errors on your PC. If anyone does, hang up.

If they ask you to download teamviewer or go to a site /remote they are after access to your computer and once they get in, these people know ways of doing a lot of damage, which will then cost you to have put right.

I have had a number of clients taken in and some have lost considerable amounts of money.

A customer asked me to copy files from his old computer to his new computer. This doesn't sound too difficult a task. Something I managed without too much bother, but it wasn't as simple as networking the 2 pc's together or even plugging in an external USB drive as they weren't recognised. I wasn't expecting this customer to still be on Windows 98.

He had had this computer for 17 years. His printer was a similar age and surprisingly I couldn't find drivers for Windows 7.

Having received a laptop in bits, after a customer decided to have ago at replacing the motherboard, I have successfully replaced said motherboard and re-assembled the laptop. The laptop is now in a fully working state. Happy Days 😀
