Being highly recommended doesn’t mean our staff should have to accept rude behavior.
Last week, a gentleman called looking for a quote for some books. We didn’t have all the information needed over the phone, so we agreed to go through it when he came into the shop.
He came in this morning and I simply asked for his name so I could pull up the notes from our previous conversation. Unfortunately, he immediately became unhappy, told me we had wasted his time, said he had travelled all this way because we had been highly recommended, and then walked out.
If you were the person who recommended us, thank you. Recommendations mean a huge amount to a small independent business like ours.
But we also shouldn’t have to accept rude behavior simply for asking the questions needed to do our job properly.
We will always treat our customers with respect, and we simply ask for the same in return.
