After 15 fantastic years of the Old Buckenham Air Show, we’re taking a little time out in 2027.

It’s been an incredible journey, bringing some truly unforgettable aircraft, displays and entertainment to Old Buckenham and welcoming thousands of people through the gates over the years. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported the show including our visitors, volunteers, sponsors, performers and the local community.

We’ll be back in 2028, refreshed and ready.

Well everyone, here we go and we are kicking off with some real sound and fury. The sound will come from a giant snarling radial engine and the fury will be from the massive Hawker Fury fighter. Reputed to be one of the most powerful piston engine fighters ever built and currently flying, this monster will be ripping up the skies over Ragley Hall at next year’s Midlands Air Festival!

Designated the FB.11, this aircraft type was the last propellor fighter to serve in the Royal Navy. The Fury was built just after the end of WW2 but did see service in the Korean war and in the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. This particular Fury was one of 60 that was built for the Iraqi air force but she carries the livery of a Royal Navy prototype aircraft.

The Fury is powered by a massive 18 cylinder Centaurus, sleeve valved radial engine providing 2,480 horse power with a top speed of 460mph and will take your breath away and give you shivers down your spine!

All set up and running for our last Airshow support event of 2026 here at Icons of the Sky, Longleat.
There is the world famous Lions, and all the usual attractions of Longleat, plus Hot Air Balloons, a full flying display, ( including RAF Tutor Display Team, The RAF Falcons,and Gyrocopter aero display), balloon arena, pyro flying display, balloon night glow and a fireworks display.
If you can’t make it today it is here again tomorrow and Sunday!
