Posting isn't marketing🙈

It’s easy to look at marketing from the outside and think it’s simply:

“Make a post.”
“Put something on LinkedIn.”
“Send an email.”
“Get something out today.”

But posting is only one small part of marketing.

What matters is who you’re targeting, why it matters to them, and what you say.❔

Because you can post every single day, but if you’re speaking to the wrong people, about the wrong things, with a message that doesn’t resonate, it’s just noise. 🙉

Good marketing starts before the content.

✨You need strategy.✨

❓Who are we trying to reach?
❓What matters to them?
❓Why should they care?
❓What do we want them to think, feel or do?
❓And what do we need to say to make that happen?

Then you think about where and how to reach them.

The post is just the output.

What can telling a good joke teach us about marketing? 😄

A joke needs to grab your attention, give you just enough information to keep you interested… and then deliver a punchline you remember.

Sound familiar? 👀

Great marketing works in much the same way.

🎯 The setup: Get their attention.
👂 The story: Keep them interested.
💥 The punchline: Give them something worth remembering.

And just like a joke, knowing your audience is everything. What has one group laughing might leave another completely confused!

Today we want you to rest and relax.

Confused?

Well, today is National Relaxation Day. 🌿
So we want you to STOP.

In marketing, we’re constantly creating, planning, analysing and reacting. With deadlines, campaigns, content calendars and an endless stream of notifications, we understand it can feel like you always need to be switched on and plugged in to social media especially.

But taking time to switch off can actually help us switch on creatively. 💡

Be honest, how many ideas pop up when doing the household chores or whilst singing (we know you do 😉🎤️🎶) in the shower

Rest gives our brains space to reset, helping us return with fresh ideas, clearer thinking and a new perspective on the challenges in front of us. Sometimes the best idea doesn’t arrive while staring at a screen, it comes when we give ourselves permission to step away from it.

So today, for National Relaxation Day, here’s a reminder that slowing down isn’t wasted time. It can be an important part of doing our best work. So!

📵 Put the phone down.
🌳 Get outside.
🧠 Give your mind some breathing room.

Because great marketing needs creativity, and creativity needs space to breathe.
