Sadly I need to make this post :(
It has come to our attention that at least two organisations have been passing our images off as their own and copying our equipment. So we need to set a few things straight:

All our images, personal and on this account are watermarked. We know when/where they were taken and by whom. If you re-use one without asking us we will spot it. Yes, even if you crop it.

Anyone can setup a Starlink and a few access points. However that's not what we do. Our systems include a lot more behind the scenes including customised hardware and software to make it work as it does. If you've booked someone for an event ask them: How are they making sure the system is fair? What are they doing to comply with PCI DSS? How are they keeping the network secure? What IDS is in play? How are they managing power and diagnostics? Do they understand WiFi Propagation, band congestion and managing ill behaved devices? Do they Have a plan B?

FInally, we do NOT contract out to anyone. If you see our logos or stickers on kit you did not directly hire from us, that equipment is stolen.

Module Matching and LED Binning:

LED manufacture has improved over the years but it's not perfect. There are always inconsistancies within batches and when large numbers of LEDs are used together these can become glaringly obvious. In a matrix disply oddly matched LEDs stick out like a sore thumb. With smaller displays and lightheads this isnt such a problem but it can still cause a jarring colour inconsistancy.

When we build our modules we record the batch number the LEDs for that module came from and then retain a small number of these LEDs. This enables colour matched repairs. It's why all our modules have serial numbers. Its a common practice among display manufacturers and we are no different. Lightport modules are similar but they use calibration values to acheive the same effect so we can mix and match RGB LEDs if needed.

LED Modules are a bigger issue. Take one well known manufacturer. There is natural variance in light head colour anyway, that's unavoidable. However there are actual known colour variants, for this manufacturer there are two ambers, two reds, two blues. These are mostly to make up for target market requirements and its why import parts can be an issue. Once these hit the second hand market it cam make a mess. Best practice when doing a lighting system for a vehicle is to power up your modules before you intall. If you are using new modules there should be no difference BUT for example mixing Blue and Blue and White heads there may be a difference in the blue. If modules are from different suppliers try to keep them together, this keeps colour variation even. Match across front/back/left/right so that if there is a variation it's consistant. If you have markedly different colours dont pair them near another module. Golden yellow and amber are commonly sold as just amber on the used market. Both side my side will be jarring, opposite eachother will also be noticable. But in an upper and lower formation, say top of grille and lower splitter, they will be less noticable.

With planning you can mix batches without creating a mess, but you need to work with your supplier to get pairs of heads. With some manufacturers there are serial numbers you can use to pair things up. Not everyone has a spectrometer in their back pocket.

Its been manic here. But in the l*l we have gotten time to catch up with our integrated lighting and control systems bits. Hopefully there will be goodies for sale soon as we are getting towards stable firmwares and the end of bug stomping.

Below, the first of our LightPort lightbar boards. Now these arent going to be cheap, but we have been working on these for a while and these change everything. These boards are full RGB making a true, multi role bar that can be configured on the fly. No more picking red, amber, blue modules, using splits and other shennanigams, with 65535 posible colours you can have a different colour on every module. LightPOrt is controllerless too. Each module is its own driver capable of HV drive meaninf it can handle up to 20 LEDs in one module and all the high current drivers are built in. All that's needed is a power distro and interface board per bar. Finally this is all modern technology supporting everything a modern bar should and cool running too. Wiring is with pre-made cables, no more messing with crimping harnesses.

We will have demo units soon so we can show these in use.

Whoops! Due to a major equipment failure on SSE's network our head office is partially without power. Irritatingly its the part with the server rack in. We should be back up and running tomorrow in good time for Monday although we have been warned it may take longer (a transformer change is needed). We have alternate arrangements if needed to get back up and running for the morning.

We are moving!
Don't worry, its not long distance. We are moving from Unit 1 Calcot Mount to.....Unit 2!

This is along with some big business changes and gives us way more room to grow for the future. More updates as we work through all the details. Thank you for everyone that has stuck with us up till now.

We are looking for a freelance web developer to initally work with our customers as needed. In return you'll have use of office space and our resources to persue your own projects as well as payment for any work you do for us. We are looking to develop this into a longer term arrangement over the next year into a full time position so it would suit someone just starting out. You'll be responsible for web design and implementation of customer sites as well as maintinance of our own presence so you should at the very least me familiar with day to day maintainance of busy web sites, Wordpress and similar CMS platforms. Training in back end management at shell level will be given. You may also be asked to provide web interface designs for embedded systems.
