Happy International Coffee Day! ☕

I wanted to take this opportunity to share a little update on our journey from repairs to a modern-day internet café.

Yesterday, I placed the orders for all the equipment and supplies, the engineers are booked in, staff training is scheduled, and the marketing materials are on their way. Things are really starting to come together!

It won't be long before you can pop in and grab a Costa coffee to take away, and as we get closer to Christmas, the café side will be fully open too.

When I founded Tech Hub, my goal was simple: to offer our local community access to as many technology services as possible under one roof. From the beginning, I knew the premises were larger than I really needed, but having a visible, welcoming high street presence felt far more important than being hidden away on an industrial estate where people might never find us.

Over the years, I've experimented with different ways of using the extra space, including subletting parts of it. While that worked well at times, it was always on a temporary basis without any long-term commitment. Now, as I've reached the end of my five-year lease, I've decided it's time for an exciting new chapter.

I'm absolutely delighted to share that I'm currently transforming the space, signing a new 10-year lease, and creating a modern-day Internet Café, proudly serving Costa Coffee!

Don't worry, I'll still be offering the same trusted computer and mobile phone repair and sales services that Tech Hub is known for. However, you'll soon also be able to relax with a great coffee in a comfortable seating area. I'm also introducing a number of sit-stand desks available to rent by the day, providing a flexible workspace for anyone looking for a productive alternative to working from home. In addition, I'm planning to offer photocopying and printing facilities to make the space even more useful for the community.

As many of you know, I'm currently recovering from an operation, so the refurbishment is taking a little longer than I had originally hoped. In the meantime, Costa Coffee will be available on a takeaway-only basis from mid October, with the full café experience expected to launch around Christmas once the refit is complete.

It's an exciting time for Tech Hub, and this is just the beginning. I have plenty more ideas and plans for the new year, and I can't wait to share them with you. Thank you all for your continued support. I'm looking forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new visitors into this next chapter of the business!

Over the past five years, we have proudly provided a free and responsible technology recycling service, helping to ensure that unwanted electronics were recycled properly rather than ending up in landfill. During this time, we have successfully recycled more than 10 metric tonnes of electronic equipment.

Unfortunately, due to increasing costs and growing restrictions within the recycling industry, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue our technology recycling service with immediate effect.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported this initiative over the years. Going forward, please ensure that any unwanted electronic items are taken to your local recycling centre for safe and responsible disposal.
