Meridian Medical has been a 123Insight manufacturing software user for over 20 years, replacing their previous system after just five years of use. A case study written two years after the initial implementation cited 25% business growth with the same admin staff level, reduction in stock inaccuracies and purchasing reduced from a four-day per week job to just half a day.

A subsequent '10 years on' case study was written, showing the company had grown a further 50%, despite a double-dip recession. The company is now spread over four sites, expanded its product range and placed a focus on quality to grow the business. They've also been extremely successful in 're-shoring', where they are able to bring manufacturing of products previously done overseas back to the UK.

You can only achieve such growth when your business has a strong digital backbone, giving your forward visibility and allowing you to plan strategically.

By their very definition, startup businesses anticipate rapid growth, so having the right systems in place from the beginning is paramount. Mako Board Sports' sister company was already using 123Insight manufacturing software, so they already knew the benefits and how it could be adapted for their business.

In order to make operations scalable, the company wanted to integrate and automate wherever possible. After moving from training to go-live in just two weeks, the company now captures test data against products, uses 123Insight's advanced serial tracking to track all components, and has integrated the system directly with their web site, allowing online orders to be immediately passed through to ERP. KPI dashboards are visible throughout the business, pulling data directly from 123Insight's database.

Lawtronic, an industry leader in the manufacturing of electrical control systems, has been a user of 123Insight for over 23 years. In that time, the company has successfully dealt with a double-dip recession, Brexit, and an overall culture shift in electronic distributors holding less stock, meaning that they had to forecast and purchase more strategically in order to maintain lead times.

The company has grown by around 250% in the last decade, with 123Insight continuing to help the business diversify from a bespoke panel shop to one supplying customers that require larger production runs. MD Dave Tester said; "In the last 10 years we've seen dramatic growth in this area, including some multi-nationals as well, so we've become a big player in the repeatable panel business. We've spread the portfolio across different markets and we’ve had quite a lot of success in this regard. That's been good for the business and given stability through tougher times as well."
