Lawtech 365, UK-based developer of legal technology software-as-a-service apps closes an oversubscribed seed financing round.
The investment is led by ADN Capital, with participation from a group of angel investors, which includes legaltech’s heavy-hitter names such as Samera Mohammed, Amrit Johal and Hockham Suthi. The seed financing round follows a previous pre-seed investment in the company.

Lawtech 365 was founded by three partners, Rudi Kesic, Azeem Rashid and Mev Dzihic. The founders are senior executives from legal and software industries.

“The support from our business angel investors in closing this round of seed financing is an important step for Lawtech 365’s continued growth. It paves the way for expansion to other jurisdictions and an opportunity to turn the “Lawyer 365” brand and the “Verify 365” AML verification platform into global legaltech players,” said Rudi Kesic, CEO and Founder at Lawtech 365. Who are the VISIONARIES and INNOVATORS leading the industry into the DIGITAL FUTURE? 🚀🚀

PROGRESS IN THE legal sector used to be just about cloud case management systems — how recorded their time, saved files in the cloud, managed matters, and how fast they were and how secure. These things still matter greatly, of course, but now, the landscape is far bigger. As technological advances expand the possibilities of how a firm can operate and new challenges— from remote working to the pandemic — present themselves, innovation in the legal world is extending into new vistas, including digital AML and ID verifications, virtual law firm models, contract automation and a full embrace of the digital .

During this period of transformative change in the legal sector, a few bold leaders stand out, judged by their determination to meet the challenges of the digital future, and their skill in bringing the legal profession of today into tomorrow with vision, speed and technological prowess. These have been pushing harder than their peers, making quicker business pivots and going audaciously forward in ways that upend the usual flow of business.

I am proud that my team at Group is considered as one of the major disruptors in the legal sector. Our achievements and innovations are all the more impressive given that they’ve occurred during a period of extraordinary dislocation in the legal industry.

For law firms, the challenge of 2021 wasn’t just about how to keep their offices open and sustain fee income amidst a global pandemic. It was, and still is, about continuing to make in the face of uncertainty as a plethora of related issues roil the industry, from and adoption pressures to dramatic shifts in consumer interest and access to justice behavior.

The innovations such as , eSign365 and don’t just disrupt the future of law, they’re disruptive to the lifestyle of lawyers and consumers. That’s the point— and the promise. And that future is nearly here! 🚀

Today, more than ever, it is crucial for your law firm to move to automated PEPs & Sanctions verifications by Verify 365 to ensure full AML compliance. Things are changing at a phenomenal pace- and lawyers have to keep up in order to stay compliant with the law.

For example, the UK has today frozen the assets of seven Russian oligarchs, including Roman Abramovich. Others added to sanctions list are Igor Sechin, Oleg Deripaska, Andrey Kostin, Alexei Miller, Nikolai Tokarev and Dmitri Lebedev.

Abramovich’s assets have been frozen, and he will be prohibited from making any transactions in the UK, as well as being subject to a travel ban.

UK officials stressed that taking action against oligarchs was complex, that cases had to be legally watertight and that there were even more complications with Abramovich given his stake in such a public institution as . But they rejected the idea that action was delayed, or slow.

The plan is for what is described as a “clear ratcheting up” of sanctions. This includes the passing of the economic crime bill next week, after it goes through the House of Lords, allowing more action, for example, with unexplained wealth orders and over foreign-owned properties in the UK.

Legal Technology: Why the Lawtech Boom is Just Getting Started? THE SECTOR IS STILL PLAYING CATCH-UP!! The time for legal technology should have been yesterday!

The legal tech opportunity is much bigger than you think. We estimate a current market size of $14 billion across 3 related categories that used to require heavy touches from lawyers: legal tech (LawTech), compliance (RegTech) & contracting (KTech).

Both Lawyer 365 (lawtech app) and Verify 365 (regtech app) harness leading-edge advances in AI, machine learning and cloud computing to enable, automate, or wholly displace (very) expensive fee earners at rates ranging from £400 to £2,000 per hour.

The current market size may pale as against the size of the $849 billion legal services market, but the expected growth rates change that story.

We think these 3 categories will triple in size in the next 5 years, while the underlying legal services space is projected to grow at a 4.4% CAGR in the same timeframe.

We are also seeing a “silent explosion” of demand for virtual legal expertise and apps such as Lawyer 365 are set to boom at global level. Historically, legal services have never scaled.

A pivot point appears to be upon us. Considered unthinkable a decade ago, US and Canada — following similar reforms in the UK and Australia that have resulted in the first publicly traded law firms—are rapidly creating regulatory sandboxes to expand current rules limiting (a) who can provide legal services and (b) who can own those businesses.

In response, record levels of venture capital are flowing into legal tech. By one estimate, legal tech companies had, by August 2021, already raised as much ($4.16B) in the private equity markets as in the two biggest previous years combined ($2.09B in 2018; $2.41B in 2019)—with considerable activity since then in a landscape that not too long ago was almost devoid of unicorns.

Lawyers can now earn 250 GBP/USD an hour without leaving home by carrying out remote video consultations with clients. This is being offered by the Lawyer 365 app to qualified lawyers who want to work “flexibly”. Lawyers are told they can work from home or their usual workplace.

Founded by Rudi Kesic, Azeem Rashid and Mevludin Dzihic, the $5 million-valued U.K.-based virtual law app for “AI-powered” legal advice and video appointments, has announced its plans to offer both free and paid virtual legal consultations, AI Legal Assistant, live chats with qualified solicitors and appointments with lawyers up to 7 days ahead.

According to the company’s website, Lawyer 365’s initial assessment software uses a form of “AI” the company claims was “designed to mirror a lawyer’s brain” providing “legal advice for millions in the palm of their hands.”

The Warwickshire-based company has already secured several large national law brands to the platform, all with a significant share of the English legal market, and many smaller law firms have come on board in recent months.

We asked Rudi Kesic, Director & Founder at Lawtech 365 Group, what is the future of VR-tech in law? And how do fit into the “metaverse”?

- -

“Over the next decade, “Virtual Reality Lawyers” are set to revolutionise the legal sector. We’ve seen a huge increase in the use of VR in other sectors and my team still continues to be fascinated and impressed by the potential of different applications of VR-tech in .

Is “metaverse” the latest easily dismissed buzzword or a new platform that lawyers might have to understand - that's the most important question right now. For those of you who are not “Keeping up with the Zuckerbergs” - the is his vision for a new virtual place to interact with other humans and bots to play games, conduct business, socialise and shop. That's the metaverse of the . And calling the metaverse virtual reality is like saying the mobile internet is an app. Point being- the opportunities are endless.

Established companies are already trying out this new kind of “virtual world”. Accenture, for example, has an Nth floor, a virtual space that connects the company's 500,000 employees and customers in meeting rooms and event spaces. It’s absolutely amazing!

In the coming years, will be used more and more in the legal sector. Quite simply, the potential for VR in the legal sector is huge, limited only by the creativity and ingenuity of those creating and applying the technology.

While others are catching up with Lawyer 365 📲, I am extremely proud that Lawtech 365 Group are already developing a number of new and exciting virtual reality legal platforms. Watch this space!”

We asked Azeem Rashid, Director at Lawtech 365 Group, “why clients prefer virtual meetings & online consultations rather than office appointments?”

Even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the term “new normal” has already become overused and now applies to every implication of social distancing in our culture.

Humans are adaptive, but we don’t like to change that much. Many patterns that were built into our lives will not change in the long term because of a virus. People like to eat together; we enjoy parties and live entertainment.

Over time, much of what has changed during quarantine will slowly get pulled back to familiar patterns.

However, this is unlikely to be the case with virtual meetings and online consultations.

The requirement to quarantine created the perfect conditions to push virtual meetings on apps like Lawyer 365 📲 past the tipping point to general adoption.

Once lawyers and clients were forced to use the technology, it was worth climbing the learning curve to satisfy the need/desire to stay in touch.

After a few meetings, the initially confusing technology became familiar to most users.

Just as email has evolved over the last three decades, communicating through video will eventually be something we take for granted. And because we already use the internet and apps in our daily lives, that timeline will be shorter than ever.

Of course, the pandemic will eventually end, however, our fascination with virtual meetings and apps like Lawyer 365 📲 is here to stay because of the ways in which a virtual meeting works better than a live interaction.
