A Rising Global Halal Powerhouse
We at Halal Certification Organisation Ltd (HCO) are delighted to announce our participation in the 22nd Annual General Meeting of the World Halal Council (WHC), which will take place in Pakistan on 29–30 October 2026.
This important international gathering presents a valuable opportunity to bring together leading halal certification bodies, regulatory authorities, Islamic scholars, industry experts, manufacturers, exporters and other stakeholders from across the world to discuss the future of the global halal industry.
🌍 Pakistan’s Growing Halal Potential
Pakistan has many of the fundamental strengths required to become a major player in the global halal economy. With a population of more than 259 million people, Pakistan represents one of the world's largest Muslim consumer markets and offers enormous domestic demand for halal products and services.
The country also possesses a substantial livestock and agricultural base, providing a strong foundation for the development of its halal food and meat industries. Its livestock resources include millions of cattle, buffaloes, goats and sheep, while Pakistan is also recognised as one of the world's significant milk-producing countries.
These resources, combined with Pakistan's large consumer market, skilled workforce, agricultural capacity and strategic geographical position, create tremendous opportunities for the development of a globally competitive halal ecosystem.
🥩 Beyond Halal Meat
While halal meat remains an important part of the sector, the global halal economy extends far beyond food.
Pakistan has the potential to expand its international presence across a wide range of halal industries, including:
🔹 Halal meat and processed foods
🔹 Dairy and agricultural products
🔹 Pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals
🔹 Halal cosmetics and personal care
🔹 Islamic finance and business services
🔹 Halal tourism and hospitality
🔹 Logistics and supply-chain services
🔹 Packaging and food ingredients
🔹 Shariah-compliant consumer products
With appropriate standards, robust certification systems, effective traceability and stronger international market access, Pakistan can add greater value to its raw materials and move towards becoming a major exporter of certified halal products.
🤝 Strengthening International Collaboration
The World Halal Council AGM provides an important platform for strengthening cooperation between halal certification organisations and industry stakeholders worldwide.
Harmonisation of halal standards, mutual recognition, certification integrity, consumer confidence, traceability and international trade are increasingly important as the global halal market continues to expand.
At HCO, we believe that trust, transparency, integrity and internationally credible certification are essential foundations for sustainable growth in the halal industry.
Our participation in the WHC AGM reflects our commitment to contributing to these discussions and supporting greater cooperation among halal certification organisations and industry stakeholders.
🇵🇰 Turning Potential into Global Opportunity
Pakistan has the resources and market potential to become much more than a large halal consumer market. With the right investment, infrastructure, standards and international partnerships, it can develop into a regional and global centre for halal production, certification, processing and exports.
The opportunity is not simply about producing more halal products. It is about building a halal ecosystem that is:
Certified. Trusted. Traceable. Sustainable. Globally recognised.
We look forward to attending the 22nd Annual General Meeting of the World Halal Council in Pakistan, representing HCO, sharing our experience, learning from international partners and contributing to meaningful discussions about the future of the global halal industry.
Most importantly, we look forward to exploring how Pakistan's demographic strength, livestock resources, agricultural potential and entrepreneurial capacity can be transformed into sustainable economic opportunities and stronger participation in the rapidly developing global halal market.
🌍 Pakistan has the potential.
🤝 Collaboration can unlock it.
🇵🇰 Together, we can help build Pakistan into a global halal powerhouse.
