BrainWeb Norfolk web studio helping UK businesses get the most from their websites. Design, build, hosting and growth.

BrainWeb is a Norfolk-based studio helping UK small and medium businesses get the most from their websites. We work across four areas: design, build, hosting and growth. That might mean a new website for a tradesperson, a booking system for a hospitality client, or ongoing hosting and support for a charity. Whatever the job, our approach stays the same: modern tools, sensibly used, and websites lo

oked after properly once they're live. We work with trades, professional services, hospitality and charities across Norfolk and the wider UK. If you want a studio that explains what it's doing and why, rather than chasing trends, get in touch.

A question that comes up more often than you'd think: when a business adds a new service, does it need its own website?

Usually not. But sometimes the existing name quietly works against the new offer, and that's expensive in a way that never shows up in the numbers.

Tank Clad has spent over twenty years lining and cladding tanks and buildings for industrial and agricultural clients. Much of what that work needs, the trades, the access equipment, the experience of working on live premises, also covers industrial building maintenance and repair. So expanding into it was a natural step, and IBM&R was set up to do exactly that.

The two sell to different people, though. Someone who's had a digester relined isn't automatically in the market for a maintenance contract on their factory, and more to the point, a facilities manager sourcing building maintenance who lands on a site called Tank Clad has to work out whether they're in the right place. Most won't spend long on that. Every enquiry lost that way is lost silently, which is exactly what makes the mistake easy to make.

So IBM&R got its own name, domain and pitch, with the visual branding carried over from Tank Clad. Separated where separation helps, joined where connection helps. Splitting a brand isn't all or nothing.

Built on WordPress, hosted and maintained by us.

A second website for a second business, launched off the back of Tank Clad's capability but sold under its own name, because the two serve different buyers.

WordPress web design Project for Norfolk Van2Camper Conversions.

Kamila and Robert build bespoke off-grid campervans from their workshop in Fakenham, and they take on the specialist jobs, electrics, insulation, windows, water systems, that self-builders would rather hand to someone who does it every day.

Two quite different customers there, and the site needed to look after both without either getting in the way. Full bespoke conversions on one side, specialist installs for self-builders on the other.

The best part of the job was the portfolio. Every build is a story: a blank panel van turns up at the workshop, and months later it leaves as somebody's home on wheels. Each finished conversion now gets its own page with the brief, the process, and a full gallery, so the portfolio grows as the work does rather than needing a rebuild every time.

A genuinely good one to work on. Full write-up here:

A WordPress site for a family-run Norfolk campervan converter, built around a custom conversions portfolio, a dedicated services and FAQ hub, and a refreshed logo suite for light and dark use.

Can AI design a website? Yes, up to a point.

Ask one of the new AI design tools for a booking page and you'll have several decent-looking versions in seconds. That part is real, and it isn't going away. We use these tools ourselves.

What a prompt can't describe is that most of your enquiries arrive at half seven in the evening from a phone, or that customers want to know your callout area before they want to know anything else, or that the last three jobs were lost because the quote form asked for information nobody had to hand.

Those things come out of a conversation, and they change the design at a level no amount of prompting reaches.

Our take on where the tools help and where they don't:

Can AI design a website? The tools produce competent screens in seconds. What they do well, where they fall short, and what it means for your site.

Ever enjoyed a glass of wine more because you knew it was expensive? There is a study where people did exactly that, and the brain scans showed the extra enjoyment was real, not just politeness.

It turns out your brain does not simply record the world, it predicts it, and the expectations you set change how people actually experience what you offer. Which is why a tired, inconsistent website costs a business more than it might think. It quietly primes people to expect less.

No hype in this one, just a look at what the science says and what it means for how you present your business online. Have a read.

The brain doesn't passively receive reality, it predicts it. Here's what predictive processing and the expectation effect mean for branding, marketing, and your website.

There has been a lot of noise lately about AI making websites easier to hack. AI has got very good at finding software flaws, which helps the people who fix them and the people who attack them. However, it does not make the web suddenly unsafe. A website that is built well and looked after properly is still a safe website. A neglected one is simply more exposed than it was a year ago. The answer is not panic, it is proper upkeep. We have written the whole thing up in plain English, with none of the hype.

AI now helps both defenders and attackers find website vulnerabilities faster. What that shift means for your site, explained calmly and without scare tactics.

How do you design a website for a global aerospace consultancy? ✈️🌍

We recently partnered with industry veteran Andrew Bolton to build a brand-new site for C & A Quality Services. Our challenge was taking highly complex compliance standards (like AS9100 and ISO 9001) and translating them into a clean, user-friendly digital experience that highlights his 39 years of aviation heritage.

Curious to see exactly how we brought this project to life?

The coverage of Google's I/O announcements last week split into two camps: "AI is killing the internet" or "everything's fine, ignore it". Neither is quite right.

We've written about what the announcements actually mean for UK small business websites. Where things have got harder (informational content is in real trouble), where they haven't (local commercial searches are holding up better than the headlines suggest), and what to do about your own site if you're a small business doing real-world work.

A useful 7-minute read, deliberately not a panic post.

What Google's I/O 2026 announcements mean for your website, and why local businesses are less exposed than the headlines suggest. From BrainWeb.
