Struggling with arthritis today so tried a quick drawing in my sketchbook to distract me from the pain. It’s not the best drawing, but I like it because it helped with the pain a little. Sometimes it’s the process that matters.

Staying cool in the rising heat by creating an illustration of a snowy mountain scene in Illustrator for a client.

to last month when I was preparing a small sample of sketches which will ultimately become a film prop diary. I must admit I went a bit full on with the writing of the diary entries, especially the historical research. The sketches are all created digitally and pulled into InDesign to create the layout with a handwritten font. The sample was printed on unbleached cotton rag paper, but the finished book will be much bigger and professionally bound by .artisans

I have other work to do, but I couldn’t stop myself from creating a digital linocut homage to David Attenborough in honour of his 100th birthday. What a body of work, and legacy he’s produced, and inspired a love and respect of nature in millions worldwide.

A great night with good food and fine company followed by a festive self portrait to wind down. It’s not perfect in any way, but considering I had quite a bit to drink this evening, it’s better than I anticipated.

A day of exhibitionism! Starting off with an exhibition of some talented students at The Atkins Gallery in Hinckley for the opening of their wonderful Connections exhibition. Back to Leicester for a look around the Open exhibition at

Found my two pieces and did the obligatory selfie. You can't tell from my expression, but I'm very happy that one of the prints has sold. There are some amazing pieces in this year, especially in the younger age categories. I was stunned by how accomplished some of the young artists are. Well worth a trip up New Walk to see the expanded gallery space.
