This is a public service announcement, brief and clear:
Matt is on vacation. He is no longer here.
Not by phone, not by text, not by carrier pigeon or fax,
He has left the country and he is not looking back.
His wife is there. His kids are there. His work phone is not.
It's sitting in a drawer, turned off, forgot.
If your computer dies, catches fire, or starts to scream,
That's unfortunate, but Matt is currently living the dream.
Please hold your tech emergencies until July 29,
At which point Matt returns and business resumes fine.
Until then: turn it off, turn it back on, hope for the best—
Matt is not currently working. Matt is on a well-deserved rest.

After 10+ years fixing PCs around Shrewsbury as My Local PC Repair, I’ve had to raise my labour prices from the start of the financial year (6th April 2026). I’ve kept the increase as small as possible — diesel, insurance, food and pretty much everything else have gone up — and I’d rather keep doing the thing I love than look for another job.

Prices remain very competitive, and I still don’t charge a call‑out for jobs within 5 miles by road of SY3 7DG — more time fixing, less time in the car. For context, other trades often add an attendance fee on top of labour: gas engineers/electricians ~£60–£120; on‑site computer support typically ~£50–£100 (out‑of‑hours is higher). Whether you used my services before or after the increase, you’ll know where I sit in that range — no call‑out fee for local jobs, still great value and service.
