Based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, I’ve been working professionally as a web designer for over 9 years. Having launched my first client’s site back in 2016. With a Foundation degree in Graphic Design, this lead me to begin my career as a multimedia designer for one of Sheffield’s best web design agency, Hydra Creative Ltd. I then worked for both Digital and Advertising agencies for 4 years. Before then setting up my own business as a freelance web designer in 2016. I specialise in creating professional and user-friendly websites that put my clients above their competition. And ensure that they not only look nice – but also provide a seamless user experience across all devices to help generate those all-important leads. At AW Media Marketing, we don’t offer a ‘one size fits all’ type process. All of our clients are different and so it’s important that they are treated that way. However, I do ensure the web design process is always straight-forward and as simple as possible. You’ll probably think AI did it all. Not even close.

We built a personal trainer his own booking software. Online booking, card payments, health forms, reminders, a login for his clients. Claude made it fast.

What it didn’t know: double bookings weren’t in the brief. And AI will tell you it’s finished and tested. That doesn’t mean it works. So we use it like a real person would.

You’re not paying for the typing. Claude does the typing.

I bet you’ve seen people going on about MCPs. Nobody actually tells you what one is, or what it’s never allowed to touch.

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. Rubbish name. Think of it as a USB port for AI. Plug one in and it can get into your other apps itself.

Mine can look at my payments all day. It can’t touch a penny. I decide what it does on its own and what it asks first.

And the bit that matters more for most businesses is your apps talking to each other, no AI needed. Plugging it all in doesn’t make it clever though. Knowing what’s right for your business is still the job.

Everyone’s going on about them. Nobody says what one is.

It’s a USB port for AI. On its own, AI only knows what you paste into it. Plug an MCP in and it can get into your Drive, your calendar, your meeting notes, your payments.

Mine take the notes off my calls, set up a new client’s folders in one command and check websites the way a customer would. Payments are read only. I decide what it does on its own.

And plugging it in doesn’t make it clever. That’s still the job.

New YouTube now live.

Usually something goes wrong and it lands on email or WhatsApp, sits in an inbox and gets missed.

So I built AW Media OS. Our clients log in and report it, add a screenshot or a video, we fix it, it goes to ready to check and they sign it off. They can see where everything’s at, any time. Nobody has to chase.

Built in Claude Code. The idea was mine.

Over a thousand pound a month in subscriptions. Replaced.

Calendly, monday.com, SignWell and Typeform. All four are our own now, built in Claude Code and living in one CRM.

Booking page with WhatsApp reminders. Projects board with team and client chat. Contracts that land on the board the second they’re signed. Forms on the website that reply on WhatsApp.

It was never really about the money. Software off the shelf makes you work their way. When it’s yours, it works your way, and it all talks to each other.

Seven hot tubs going out, and the firm found out on the day. Got told that sat in a meeting the other week.

Their system had the date the whole time. All it ever sent was a tiny notification saying an order had come in, so the reminder was whoever happened to remember.

What they asked for was dead simple. A couple of days’ notice. And it’s the same with enquiries, bookings, quotes and invoices. Most of it runs on somebody remembering.

Joined up, a booking on the website lands straight in the system, enquiries nudge you till they’re answered, invoices chase themselves and deliveries come with notice.

Safe to say, this is why we’re building a new system.

Another custom created Shopify theme.

Their brand lives out on the moors. Their shop was a stock theme in grey.

No Rub Club make anti-friction ni**le tape for runners, riders and anyone who sweats through their kit. The packaging and the socials looked the part. The shop didn’t, and the product page had one button.

So we rebuilt it from their own material. Their shoots, their packaging, their lime. One product front and centre, express checkout right under the add to cart, and every word still theirs.

Joey’s verdict: “Looks belter.”

Messages I get now everyone’s got ChatGPT. Part one.

It used to be “can you build me a website?” Now it turns up already built, with a question on the end. “Can you just make it live?” “ChatGPT reckons it should only take you about an hour.” A photo of some code on a screen.

Honestly, I love getting these. Somebody’s had a proper go, so they turn up knowing exactly what they want.

ChatGPT’s brilliant at the bit you can see. Everything round it is still a job. Where it lives, your emails, the form landing somewhere, Google knowing it’s there.

So keep them coming. Fire over what you’ve made and I’ll tell you what it needs to go live.

People don’t no-show on purpose.

They just forget, or the email’s gone to spam. So I’ve put WhatsApp into my CRM, sent from my own business number.

Book a call with us and the Meet link lands on WhatsApp straight away, with an option to reschedule. You get a reminder the day before and another on the day. Send an enquiry and a message comes back saying a real person is on it. And when a support job’s done, the client gets a link to go and see the changes.

All built in Claude Code, running through 360dialog so I didn’t have to buy a new number.
