πŸ† Certification isn't just what we do. It's a standard we uphold ourselves.

We're pleased to announce that TecSec has once again successfully achieved IASME Cyber Assurance (ICA) Level 2 certification; a standard we've maintained since 2017.

As a certification body, we have been trained in the implementation of the standard and our skills in implementation are assessed annually, so you know that when we help your organisation understand the requirements, implement the right controls and work towards achieving certification, we are doing so as an approved certification body.

We believe it's just as important to practise what we preach.
By maintaining our own certification year after year, we demonstrate our commitment to the standards we assess others against and bring first-hand experience of what's involved in putting the right controls into practice.

We don't just know what good looks like. We put it into practice ourselves.

At TecSec, compliance isn't just about achieving a certificate. It's about building effective processes, embedding good security practices and making them part of everyday business.

John thought his business was too small to be targeted.

Tim thought the update could wait until later.

Neither decision ended well.

Cybercriminals aren't looking for the biggest target. They're looking for the easiest one.

Simple actions such as enabling MFA, applying security updates, maintaining backups, and training staff can make a significant difference.

Don't wait for an incident to make cyber security a priority.

Finding vulnerabilities is important. Fixing them is what reduces risk.

Many organisations invest in vulnerability scanning to identify security weaknesses across their environment. However, a scan report alone doesn't improve security.

The real value comes from understanding which vulnerabilities pose the greatest risk and taking the right steps to address them.

In this carousel, we explain what remediation is, why prioritisation matters, and how organisations can turn security findings into meaningful risk reduction.

Meet two of TecSec's most popular team members 🐾

They don't answer support tickets.

They don't attend client meetings.

And they definitely don't help with Cyber Essentials assessments.

But Noodle and Daisy play an important role in keeping spirits high around the office.

Whether it's encouraging us to step away from our screens, providing a welcome distraction during a busy day, or making sure nobody forgets snack time, they're always on hand to boost morale.

As we approach World Mental Health Day, it's a reminder that workplace wellbeing isn't always about big initiatives. Sometimes it's the small things that help us feel happier, more connected, and supported.

Now let's be honest...

Which one looks like they're the real boss? πŸ‘€πŸΆ

Cyber criminals don't take a month off. Neither should cyber awareness.

October is Cyber Awareness Month, a reminder that good cyber security starts with people.

Technology is essential, but many cyber incidents still begin with a simple human action:
πŸ“§ Clicking a phishing email
πŸ”‘ Using a weak or compromised password
πŸ“± Approving a fraudulent login request
⚠️ Ignoring a security warning

The good news? Many cyber risks can be significantly reduced through awareness, training, and effective security practices.

This month, challenge your organisation to take one step forward:
βœ… Run a phishing awareness exercise
βœ… Review your patch management process
βœ… Check your Cyber Essentials certification status
βœ… Educate staff on the latest cyber threats
βœ… Review how quickly vulnerabilities are identified and remediated

At TecSec Services Ltd, we work with organisations to strengthen their cyber resilience through managed IT support, cyber security services, vulnerability management, compliance support, and Cyber Essentials certification.

Cyber Awareness Month isn't just about understanding the risks. It's about taking practical steps to reduce them.

What action will your organisation take this month to improve its cyber security?

πŸ”’ Stronger security. Greater trust. Improved resilience.

Congratulations to Special Steel Group on achieving Cyber Essentials certification.

Certification shows that key cyber security controls are in place to help defend against common cyber attacks. It also provides reassurance to customers, suppliers, and stakeholders that cyber security remains a priority.

We're proud to have supported Special Steel Group throughout their certification journey and look forward to continuing to help them strengthen their cyber resilience.

πŸ“’πŸŽ‰Another milestone for TecSec!

We're delighted to announce that TecSec has achieved Defence Cyber Certification (DCC) Level 0, adding another certification to our growing portfolio.

What's particularly exciting is that we're not just certified; we're also a DCC Certification Body, meaning we can help other organisations achieve their certification too.

As cyber security requirements continue to evolve, particularly within the UK defence supply chain, we're proud to be strengthening our own credentials while helping businesses navigate their own compliance journeys.

For TecSec, this is about more than achieving another certification. It's about continually developing our expertise, strengthening our capabilities and helping our clients build confidence in their cyber security.

One more step forward for TecSec, and another way we can support our clients.

🚨 Attackers don't need sophisticated techniques if they can create enough panic.

Urgency is one of the most effective tools in a cyber criminal's arsenal. When we're rushed, distracted, or under pressure, it's much easier to make a costly mistake.

You can't protect what you can't see.

Every organisation relies on technology, but many businesses don't have complete visibility of the security weaknesses that may exist within their environment.

Vulnerability scanning helps uncover hidden risks, from missing updates and outdated software to misconfigurations and known vulnerabilities that attackers actively exploit.

But finding a vulnerability doesn't automatically make you secure.

Swipe through to discover why vulnerability scanning matters and what should happen after vulnerabilities are identified.
