This 800-acre ancient oak woodland on Exmoor is a National Nature Reserve home to moss-covered pollards over 500 years old, including the legendary tree known as 'the General'.

🏆 Back in July 2025, we were proud to celebrate with our Accounts Assistant, Katie Kelly, after she won the Rising Star Award from The Printing Charity - recognising emerging talent across the print industry. As part of that achievement, Katie was invited to a special awards ceremony at the House of Lords.

Today, we’re delighted to share an exciting update...

📜 Katie chose to invest her Rising Star Award prize fund into her AAT studies, and she has just learned that she passed her AAT Level 2 in Accounting with merit.

Huge congratulations, Katie - you continue to shine and inspire. A rising star indeed.

To tie in with Men's Health Week, our MD, Andrew Robbins, was interviewed by The Printing Charity, a charity that helps support people in the industry with their welfare and career development.

Andrew describes one action he takes to support his own well-being:

"Leading a business brings a certain level of responsibility and decision-making, and inevitably, I can find my head gets a bit full at times. I’ve found that getting out, particularly on the trails, helps to create the space to process all of that. There’s something about being in the countryside, away from screens and digital noise, that clears my head in a way nothing else quite does."

He also mentions a workplace action that has made a difference:

"One of the most effective things we’ve done at Blackmore is simply to encourage colleagues to talk more openly with their managers about how things are going and share the challenges they’re facing, whether work-related or otherwise.

It sounds very straightforward, but it’s had a noticeable impact on the culture. People are more willing to speak up early if they’re under pressure or struggling with a workload, which means we can deal with issues before they become bigger problems. It also helps managers and teams understand what’s really going on, rather than relying on assumptions.

Over time, that openness has contributed to a more supportive working environment where people look out for each other a bit more.

It’s a simple shift, but it’s made a genuine difference."
