Do you have a perfectly good MacBook that won't update any further? Here we have a 13 year old MacBook Pro with hardware that's still viable in 2026, the challenge is that some things stop working on older operating systems, one usual culprit is Microsoft 365 / office which will not update on older systems or it'll revert to view only, disabling editing/creation capability. We've updated the MacBook from Big Sur to Mac OS Ventura making it much more compatible with modern applications whilst still maintaining performance. If you have an older MacBook (e.g. 2020 Intel MacBooks or older) please get in touch with options to update and keep it going for another few years instead of replacing it.

Say what you want about Apple and planned obsolescence, but they released a security fix in May 2026 for this 2014 iPad. True, it won’t run some apps because of the software version, but it’s still a decent usable tablet even in 2026 and they can be had for under £100! There's a huge choice: Standard iPad with home button and 10 inch screen, iPad Air 10.9 inch, iPad Pro 11 or 13 inch. Depends on your use and budget. We’ve had a flurry of activity on refurbished tech. iPhones, MacBooks and Windows laptops. Refurbished devices are great value at the moment, the prices don’t seem to be accelerating at the same rate as new devices (Apple have quietly raised prices on many products). The general consensus is that demands of AI have pushed chip prices up a huge amount. If you’re in the market for a replacement device please get in touch, there are still bargains to be had. Shown is a lovely MacBook Pro 16 with the M1 Pro processor, super performance for a 1/3 of the new price.

We’re doing more data recovery / destruction lately. The pictured Dell laptop had failed so we pulled the solid state drive out and securely erased it. Other jobs have included pulling data off broken laptops, recovering data from faulty devices and data recovery from failing external hard drives.
