the beauty of running things through social media means you can access anyone anywhere in the world

sat up at night remote accessed into a person from Mississippi's computer taking to them in a Zoom call while i help them setup a part of thier computer, all from my home (at 4am mind but hey we dont worry about that)

Now they have a new drive configured, setup and configured, Guided them how to install it physically into their machine over video, then i was able to remotely access the machine over the internet (with their permission of course) and set it up for them

As much as i have spent January complaining about the rise in costs in personal computing due to the ongoing chip shortage caused by AI Companies

Due to this I have fully restructured my pricing for work that involves components that use DRAM chips, but there is nothing that can be done

Doors, Phone Lines etc Open, lets make 2026 a good one

I am continuing to be very concerned about the rise of prices for storage and memory in the market right now

for context, parts i would order in that cost me 23 pound, are now costing me 49 pound

this is direct because of the forced integration of AI systems in everything, the demand is not outweighing the supply
and everyone is snapping up the old cheap deals and reselling them for insane prices , a few multi-billion dollar tech companies are destroying the computer market, buying up all the factory time for the manufacture of their own parts, buying up company stock and supply of parts, to the point where some major part companies are pulling out of the commercial market and exclusively selling to these companies, making the access to parts even harder.

this price will be notices in the purchase of machines, new and used, upgrade of machines and parts etc.

I hate restructuring my prices or anything like that, but my hand is forced due to these companies trying to be number one of the "new thing"

Just like the cryptocurrency craze over the pandemic destroyed the graphics card market, the insanity of AI is ruining the Memory and storage market,

global shortages are resulting in an insane skyrocket of prices for RAM and SSDs

This will unfortunately be reflected in current costs of new machines, and upgrades, but i pride myself on honest and transparent pricing systems and will make it known (and probably blame various tech billionaires)

they needed windows 11 and were not interested in windows 10 ltc or a linux distro, so they will be retiring their old 10 year old workhorse and moving to something newer

as with any tool, it needs servicing and cleaning, your hands drop debris, the environment have debris and dirt that. can clog up your mouse and ruin the wheel and buttons
fix it, dont bin it

also props to Logitech for making an actual serviceable mouse for once, repairable? no, but serviceable

Lets Talk Windows 10
tomorrow, the 14th of October, windows10 will be closing it's doors and generating billions of pounds of Ewaste, the biggest of its time ever.

What are your options:

Keep running windows 10 and accept that you will gradually be exposed to security risks caused by malicious actors on the internet, until you reach the point where the machine cannot be safely connected to the mainstream internet like Windows 7

Purchase a new Machine and contribute to the e-waste scandal Microsoft are causing by this

Swap to a up to date Linux based distribution suitable for your workflow and technological style

Move to an Apple Based ecosystem and be affected by the same planned obsolescence features that Apple support

Play with experimental scripts and installers to run LTSC versions of windows 10 to keep support until 2038
