Buckingham Pools build high-end swimming pools.

The work is brilliant. The behind-the-scenes admin was not.

They were running the whole business on 9 separate bits of software, and none of them talked to each other.

One system for quotes. Another for tracking the build. Another for customer service. Somewhere else for documents. Something different again for marketing, site forms and vehicle tracking.

So every time a new job came in, the same information had to be typed in by hand, over and over, into different places.

Most people think a support queue is a list of things that have broken.

We went back through our recent support tickets to see if that was true. It wasn't. Most of them were not faults. They were customers asking for more. A new dashboard. A report that did not exist yet. Another team added in. A better way to do something they were already doing.

So most of our support inbox is not people who are stuck. It is people who have got comfortable with their systems and want to push them further.
