People learn and process information in different ways, which is something to remember during Learning Disability Week.
Assistive technology can make a real difference, but training is what helps people apply those tools with confidence in real situations.
This was reflected in a recent review for Subi, one of Remtek’s Assistive Technology Trainers:
"Before I started this training I was terrified of the whole internet, programs stuff. But Subi with her calm, patient, and encouraging manner has shown me not to be terrified, but how to use all the software to my advantage."
The review went on to explain how the training gave them the confidence to use what they had learnt to support their studies and achieve their goals.
That is why personalised training matters. It is not just about showing someone how a piece of software works. It is about patience, understanding and helping each person build confidence at their own pace.
A huge well done to Subi for the support, patience and encouragement shown throughout this training. Feedback like this shows the difference thoughtful, person-centred support can make.
