Today is Developmental Language Disorder Day, raising awareness of DLD and the impact it can have on communication.

DLD can make it harder to follow conversations, process instructions, find the right words or express ideas clearly. Because it is not always visible, people can sometimes be misunderstood when they may simply need information presented differently or more time to process it.

On Saturday, the Remtek team completed Tough Mudder, and we’re incredibly proud to say we smashed our fundraising target.

Together, we’ve raised over £5,000 for Alzheimer's Society and Moya Cole Hospice, Greater Manchester, with the money being split between both charities.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, shared the fundraiser or supported the team along the way.

This week we want to recognise Dyslexia

Running from the 5th to the 10th of October, the week is an opportunity to acknowledge the challenges dyslexia can create in work and education, particularly around reading, writing, organisation and processing information.

Assistive technology can help reduce some of these barriers. Tools such as text-to-speech, speech recognition and literacy support software can make information easier to access and help people work with greater confidence.

The technology is most effective when it is matched to the individual and
supported with the right training.

Back Care Awareness Week takes place from 5th to 10th of October, highlighting the importance of looking after our back health.

When back health is neglected, discomfort can build over time and start to affect concentration, movement and how manageable the working day feels.

Poor workstation setups, long periods in the same position and limited movement can all contribute to unnecessary strain. If left unaddressed, this can lead to more discomfort and potentially time away from work.

This month, Remtek Workplace will be sponsoring Thrive Law's annual "Work in Progress" Summit in Leeds.

Taking place on the 16th of October, the event brings together leaders from HR, ED&I and wider business teams to explore where employment law and workplace culture are heading.

For us, its a strong fit as we spend a lot of time speaking with organisations about workplace inclusion, employee support and how better environments can improve the working experience.
