Please read to the end. 5 years ago this month, I was given the news that I could expect to live another 3-5 years. Whilst I still have prostate cancer, it is still being kept at bay and I am thankful each day that I can see the beautiful world with stunning sunsets, amazingly intricate flowers & plants, the miracle of life and will be able to laugh at another general election. It's my 55th birthday in July and I would like to ask all my friends, if they can, to donate to my dad's Just Giving page. He is cycling 65 miles this September in the Big Blue Bike Ride in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. I don't generally give a running commentary on my cancer but this time it is important to me that we raise as much as we can. My dad is an amazing man and I am proud he is doing this for a fantastic cause. Beken of Cowes is a world-famous marine photography archive based on the Isle of Wight, England. The archive was started in 1888 by Alfred Edward Beken who moved to Cowes with his son Frank and purchased an existing pharmacy situated in the small port of Cowes, famous for its International Sailing Regatta. Frank Beken was so impressed by the classic yachts sailing off Cowes that he started the Beken Marine Photography Archive. The archive features over 200,000 priceless works, from monochrome silver prints to digital images. The Beken of Cowes Marine Photo Gallery is popular with boaters around the world. The gallery features classic historical photographs as well as color photographs of modern racing and cruising boats.
