from one of our suppliers today
Hi
I hope you’re doing well. Please feel free to pass this onto anyone within the business
We wanted to share an important update regarding current and expected pricing changes across several key hardware components—specifically RAM, SSDs, and potentially GPUs. This message is intended as a heads-up so you can plan accordingly, especially given March/april budgets coming up.
RAM pricing is currently experiencing significant volatility, with increases of approximately 15–20% per week. Industry forecasts suggest this trend is likely to continue throughout the year due to ongoing supply constraints.
Price examples below.
All original pricing is from September 2025 just before pricing started to increase. (All pricing Ex Vat)
32GB (2x16GB) - Original Price £84.16 - Current price £327.49
64GB (2x32GB) - Original Price £169.99 - Current price £791.66
96GB (2x48GB) - Original Price £206.24 - Current price £858.74
128GB (2x64GB) - Original Price £336.66 - Current price £1,221.24
SSD pricing is also beginning to rise. We have just had updated prices for February and they have risen on some models by 30-40%.
Looking ahead to GPUs, there are growing rumours—particularly around next-generation models such as the RTX 5090—that pricing could increase substantially. Some speculation suggests prices could rise from around $2,000 to as high as $5,000. While this is not confirmed and we hope the increase will be far more modest, continued memory shortages make some level of GPU price inflation likely over time.
