After 3 years as the Social Media Lead at AIMS UK, traipsing around the country to sell their publications and merchandise at conferences and creating all of their social media content… I was fired 3 weeks ago.
I was fired for: asking questions about why other volunteers were being bullied and/or fired, and for seeking support in a therapeutic birthworker space and reassuring others who had adverse experiences with AIMS.
Other people were fired for requesting that AIMS recall a very dangerous book published on Twin Pregnancy and for initiating an official complaints process.

As well as looking pretty damn sexy on my portfolio grid, this can act as a reminder that the Queenclasses (not MASTERclasses) are not to be missed, for anyone out there working with birth or simply nerding-out over birth.
Not only will you be enlightened by learning about the physiology of our bodies, but you learn a tonne about the politics and pressures that a corrupt and over-medicalised service might try to force on us.

Due Dates is a BIG topic. Why didn’t you know that your Estimated Due Date was a load of sh*te? And is the mere presence of a Due Date the first intervention that eats away at our faith and confidence that birth will happen when it’s bloody well ready!?

Membrane sweeps is a BIG topic. Why didn’t you know that this was a big part of the induction process and one of the most commonly taken-up interventions that eat away at our faith and confidence that birth will happen when it’s bloody well ready!!

And whilst working with this dreamboat, , I actually realised that I NEEDED this course too. I am now 4 weeks in to a 3 month group of spiritual development with a handful of other birth workers and I am so grateful.
