There is a well known "learning pyramid" whose origins are shrouded in mystery, and sometimes referred to as the "cone of learning" it states that a "learner" will retain 5% via a lecture, 10% via reading, 20% via audio/visual, 30% via demonstration, 50% in a discussion group, 75% via doing, and 90% by teaching others.

Sometimes you need to be inside a data centre to understand it, and you won't get that online or in a classroom, the National Data Centre Academy has its own mini server room where delegates improve the room using the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres (Energy Efficiency) best practices, and our other technical training suite covering power, D2C and Immersed Compute is in detailed planning.
Our courses are checked prior to every delivery to ensure that delegates get the latest and most up to date information on standards, legislation and technologies.

What's the "value proposition" of taking a course at the National Data Centre Academy?

Well, our principal instructor is well known throughout the industry, he is the chair of the BSI TCT7/3 committee that covers the EN 50600 and ISO/IEC 30134 series of data centre design, build and operate and key performance indicator metrics, he is the joint author of the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres (Energy Efficiency) (EUCOC) and sits on the TechUK Data Centre Council, he has also worked for the EU as a stakeholder on such projects as EURECA, Catalyst, the Assessment Framework for EU Taxonomy and the Energy Efficiency Directive, delegated act for Data Centres, he is also a ESOS Lead Assessor and an ISO50001/22301 Lead Auditor, Energy and Business Continuty Management Systems.
For the rest of 2025, anyone paying for our 5 day Data Centre/Server Room Energy Efficiency course will also get a free assessment/report of their own server room, we expect that energy savings of between 10-25% may be possible with the prudent application of the EUCOC best practices
Our 5 day courses also include accommodation at a local hotel in the price.

The National Data Centre Academy is equipped with its own practical training suite for energy efficiency and phase 2 includes our own real data centre for research and training purposes.

Our aim is that anyone wanting a career in the data centre sector that undertakes any of courses will have an advantage when applying for a position within a data centre company either an operator or in the supply chain.
