The Awards were created to discover and showcase the outstanding talent emerging from higher education facilities and help launch them into careers at the world’s top studios. The Rookies is the exciting next step in the Awards evolution as the “Oscars for young creative minds”. To kick things off we have introduced ten additional prize divisions focusing on the most highly competitive artistic industries. In this live sculpting session, 3D artist and instructor Chiara Rovoletto from Skyup Academy will sculpt a creature while showing why strong design begins before surface details. Starting from simple volumes, she will explain the decisions behind silhouette, proportions, shape language and contrast, and how these elements work together to create a clear, expressive and memorable design.

The session offers a direct look at the artistic thinking behind the sculpt, from the initial blockout to a readable creature design, and will conclude with a live Q&A and feedback segment.
