Sometimes the best software updates are the ones that come directly from the people using it every day.

As part of our latest integrate update, we added a customer-requested improvement to help make order tracking smoother after survey drawings have been processed.

Previously, users could update the survey tracking date and process items from there. Now, when using the “Process All Items” button, integrate can also update the “Processed by Survey” date in the order tracking tab.

A small practical change, but one that helps keep order progress clearer and reduces the need to update the same information in more than one place.

The customer who requested it replied: “This is fab thank you!”
Even better, they said they’ll be sharing the update with their wider team.

That’s exactly why user feedback matters. It helps us keep improving integrate in ways that support real day-to-day workflows for window and door businesses.

Order labels are useful for adding extra context to a job, especially when the order name alone doesn’t tell the full story.

For example, if you work regularly with the same builder, architect or contractor, a simple label like “Golf Club” or “Phase 2” or a street name can make it much easier to identify the right project across your order list and production paperwork.

The label can also be pulled through automatically from the lead, helping keep information consistent as a lead becomes an order.

It’s just another one of our practical updates designed to make day-to-day job management clearer for sales, survey and production teams.

Alex has recorded a short video showing how to enable this feature - You can get access to them and new ones in your inbox each month by signing up to our monthly integrate tutorial videos here: https://form.jotform.com/250056253326349

In joinery, the detail matters long before anything reaches the workshop.

Every specification, drawing, note, option and customer requirement needs to carry through clearly from quote to production.

When that information sits across spreadsheets, emails and disconnected systems, it becomes much easier for something to be missed.

We designed integrate to help bring the process together, so teams can work from clearer information at every stage.

Good pricing isn't about being the cheapest.

It’s about knowing your costs, protecting your margin and showing the customer exactly what they’re paying for.

For timber window businesses, that means capturing the details that can easily get missed:

- Glazing upgrades
- Specialist ironmongery
- Finishing time
- Site access.
- Survey changes.
- Admin, waste and delivery.

A spreadsheet might get you so far, but a proper system gives you consistency.

In our latest blog, we look at why timber window pricing should be built around process, not guesswork, and how the right software can help.

Historic England's updated advice note on adapting historic buildings for energy and carbon efficiency is a good reminder that improving performance in older buildings is rarely straightforward.

It often means balancing:

- Energy efficiency
- Heritage value
- Permissions and consent
- Building fabric
- Customer expectations
- Practical installation details

For timber window and door businesses, this is especially relevant.

In our experience, this is exactly where disconnected systems can make life harder. When the original enquiry, customer notes, drawings, specifications, quotes, production details and installation information all sit in different places, it becomes much easier for key details to be missed or misunderstood.

integrate is designed to bring that whole process together - helping timber window and door businesses manage the detail from quote through to installation.
Because with heritage work, the detail matters from the start.

Spend any time in Facebook groups for installers, joiners or timber window manufacturers, and you’ll see the same question appear again and again:

“How much would you charge for this?”

The replies are usually interesting - but they’re rarely consistent.

That’s because every business is different. Timber choice, glazing, hardware, paint finish, site access, installation complexity, workshop setup, overheads and labour all affect the final price.

The real risk is not being “too expensive”. It’s missing the details that should have been charged for in the first place.

In our latest blog, we look at why timber window pricing needs a system - not a best guess - and how businesses can build a more consistent, repeatable approach to quoting.

Great to see Alex out with the team at Ventrolla last week, providing some additional on-site training and support.

The session focused on helping the team get the most out of integrate by utilising more of the features already available to them in integrate, including sales pipeline management, the customer journey, Outlook calendar integration, tasks and reminders, quote PDF customisation, technical surveys and remedials.

Alex also covered some useful areas that were new to parts of the team, including recording payments against jobs and using the Drawing Board on a tablet while on site.

It’s a good reminder that implementation doesn’t stop once software is in place - Ongoing training, support and practical conversations make a real difference in helping teams get more value from the tools they’re using day to day.

Thanks to the Ventrolla team for having us.

A useful one for anyone working with Accoya windows and doors...

Accoya’s Essential Coatings Guide is a good reminder that material choice is only part of the job. The performance of the finished product also depends on the details around coating, preparation, handling and finishing.

For joinery businesses, those details can influence decisions right through the job - from what’s specified and priced, to how components are prepared, stored and installed.

It’s a practical reminder that the small technical decisions made early on can have a real impact later.
