Smarter governance, not necessarily stricter prohibition. That's the thinking behind a recent National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) blog on shadow AI. 🔐

The NCSC explains that when staff can't use approved AI tools, they may turn to ones their school hasn't checked. That's where the real risk sits: sensitive information ending up in places nobody can see.

Their advice is practical:

✅ Give staff approved AI tools that meet their actual needs
✅ Build AI into your systems securely
✅ Create a culture where people feel able to ask questions openly

The goal isn't to remove every risk. It's to reduce it, while giving teachers and support staff time back for what matters most: the children in front of them.

The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, known as Martyn's Law, received Royal Assent on 3 April 2025. It comes with a preparation period of at least 24 months, and Sign In App notes that "enforcement is likely from around April 2027." No exact date has been confirmed yet, but the time to prepare is now.

⚽🏆 What a season for Tone_Youth Football Club!

As our first year sponsoring this grassroots football club draws to a close, we couldn't be prouder of how the team has done. League winners, plus runners up in the cup final on Saturday after a brilliant performance.

Huge credit to coaches Stuart, Richard and Lee for guiding them all season. We're lucky to benefit from Stuart's leadership at iCT4 too, where he heads up our Somerset Field Engineers team.

For next season we are also proudly sponsoring Silverton Football Club in the Exeter and District League and look forward to developing more ways iCT4 can support young people and local communities.
