Our story
From humble beginnings as “James King Web Developer”, James needed a separate entity to manage his freelance work. He had amassed a few clients and needed a much better home for them. “James King Web Developer” was his Sole Trader trading name and lacked sufficient resources.
James needed a way to offer his clients excellent hosting and domain names alongside his own custom website development work. Therefore, he decided that the best course of action was to setup a Limited Company in order to provide customers with the best of the best. As a Limited Company, James had access to much better resources and other companies’ offerings in order to help his customers with their sites. He could offer hosting, domain names and other fantastic services to complement his development work.
Momentum Studio Ltd was formed on 24th April 2018 as a great start to the new tax year. James notified all of his existing clients and grandfathered them over as a part of Momentum Studio’s new client base. Each customer received a ‘home’ at https://clients.momentum.studio in order to see and manage their services. Payments became automated as a result.
James closed “James King Web Developer” and now operates any freelance / contract work out of Momentum Studio as it is a much better way of working than the limited resources as a Sole Trader. James can focus his time in development work and less time managing client’s payments and other admin.
