RAM prices have increased significantly over the past 6–9 months.
Here’s an example of what we’re seeing when comparing mid-2025 pricing to today:
- 16GB RAM: ~£55 → ~£275
- 32GB RAM: ~£90 → ~£325
This level of increase isn’t being driven by consumer demand. It’s largely due to global memory manufacturers prioritising AI and datacentre workloads over general-purpose hardware.
What this means for businesses:
- New laptops and desktops are more expensive than they were last year
- Server upgrades and memory expansions cost more
- Delaying hardware refresh plans may result in higher costs later
Our advice:
If you’re planning hardware purchases in the next 6–12 months, it’s worth reviewing timelines now rather than assuming prices will fall.
