Historic England has added a new wave of protected heritage sites across the South West - including unique buildings, ancient landscapes and even a rare shipwreck!

Projects like this show how heritage isn’t static. It’s always changing and is shaped by the stories and memories we attach to places - which is why the ‘Missing Pieces’ project inviting the public to contribute their own history is so important to our community.

At Capture, we love helping organisations protect those narratives through our platform, which is specially designed to preserve this important heritage long into the future. Also, our wonderful Marketing Executive is from the South West, so this story feels even closer to home for us!

Historic England has revealed five unusual and remarkable historic places granted protection across the South West in 2025, including a Cornwall landmark moved twice to escape the sea. They form part of 27 buildings and sites added to the National Heritage List for England this year, with 199 listed...

From ancient Egypt to today’s digital age, the goal remains the same: to protect and share historical media.

The opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo is a stunning reminder of the power of preservation! At Capture, we’re proud to play our part in supporting museums and archives doing just that all across the globe.

Our CEO, Nick Caw, joined the AGM in London earlier this week.

As a long-standing partner of PICSEL, Capture was delighted to demonstrate a new integration between the Capture platform and PICSEL-ID. This collaboration enables our mutual customers to seamlessly sync their content and make full use of the PICSEL-ID service - building on other joint tools like our custom reporting integrations.

The event was well attended, with great presentations from across the community, including:

Paul Seheult (PICSEL CEO) - Year in Review showcasing an impressive year of progress.

Ritch Sibthorpe (Muwzo) - AI Licensing & Partnerships, a thought-provoking keynote on the evolving role of AI in rights management.

We’ll be sharing more about this integration - and other innovations - at our upcoming Capture Customer Forum at the British Library.

🪂 From static lines to world records — our very own Gavin McLeod takes skydiving to new heights!

When he’s not writing our excellent API, Gavin is quite literally flying high.

He first joined the Skydiving Club at Preston Polytechnic (now the University of Central Lancashire) back in 1987, taking his first jump that December - and he’s been hooked ever since.

Since that first leap, Gavin has completed over 2,300 jumps, specialising in canopy formation (CF) skydiving - where jumpers open their parachutes within seconds and build stunning formations mid-air.

Over the years, he’s:

• Coached countless skydivers in CF
• Worked as a parachute rigger, repairing and building components
• Served on the Board of the British Parachute Association (now British Skydiving)
• Competed with CFUK, long-running national champions and UK representatives at multiple World Championships

He was even part of the 100-way World Record formation in 2007 - a record that still stands today!

And after an 8-year break, Gavin’s team recently made a triumphant return to competition, earning 3rd place at the British Skydiving Championships.

We’re so proud to have someone with Gavin’s drive, precision, and passion on the Capture team - both in the sky and on the ground.

The Jaguar Land Rover cyber-incident is a wake-up call: digital resilience isn’t only about firewalls and recovery plans.

It’s also about your assets. Can your teams still find the right files in a crisis? Can you prove which version is approved? Can you control who has access?

A secure Digital Asset Management platform like Capture doesn’t just organise your content — it safeguards your reputation when it matters most. We've also helped protect our clients from cyber attack related damage.
