In iManage environments, it’s common to see a matter updated in the PMS, but the workspace not reflecting that change. Someone has to step in and fix it, and even in well-governed environments, that introduces a manual step.
The same thing can happen at the start. Workspaces are created correctly, but not always in a way that consistently reflects firm-wide policy. Over time, that creates small gaps.
Structures don’t quite line up, naming can drift, and maintaining consistency across the firm becomes harder than it should be.
It’s not a lack of policy. It’s the challenge of applying it consistently across every workspace as things change.
