Today we supported a conference at a local venue in Southend, delivering a straightforward and reliable AV setup for the event.

The system included Sennheiser digital microphones, an Allen and Heath digital mixing console with remote iPad control, RCF NX active loudspeakers, and a pair of Epson laser projectors providing clear visuals for presentations.

A simple, well specified setup that ensured the event ran smoothly from start to finish.

Tomorrow at 9am we officially relaunch The AV Barn under new ownership by ESL AV.

The AV Barn is now positioned as a dedicated digital hub for the purchase of commercial and live audio, professional lighting and integrated AV solutions. The new platform has been developed to better serve installers, venues, event companies and commercial clients seeking premium brands, reliable products and competitive pricing.

This marks a significant step forward for ESL AV as we continue to expand our footprint within the professional audio visual sector.

🌈 Brilliance - A bespoke installation created by ESL, 5000 individual pixels of light will transform the railway bridge in the High Street into a kaleidoscope of colour.

💡 Royal Walk - A bespoke installation created especially for Southend LuminoCity by ESL. Seven hanging pendants will create a moving walkway of light as you make your way from the High Street to the Seafront.

🎨 Lumi-Jam - When two festivals collide! The guys at ESL are creating range of bespoke lighting displays to add another dimension to the incredible street art pieces from ! The street art festival from September 2022.

Southend LuminoCity will return from Thursday 16 - Saturday 18 February | 5pm - 10pm 🙌🙌

Large-scale light installations will pop up at iconic landmarks in and around the city centre and seafront, including our Pier!

We are very pleased to host 'Nova' - the artwork is based around the mythical Star of the East which astronomers now believe to be a nova. A transient astronomical event that causes the sudden appearance of a bright, seemingly new star.

We can proudly announce that ESL Technology Group (ESL) have completed the acquisition of DPL Production Lighting Limited.

As an established and award-winning AV integrator, ESL has been growing its rental and production arm of the business since early 2015.

Since then, ESL has been providing full production support (including staging, sound, lighting and video) to numerous events and festivals throughout the UK. ESL have rapidly grown their rental stock, most recently with a large investment in IP-Rated LED video panels and processors.

DPL, founded in 1989 by Darren Parker, have offered professional lighting equipment, rigging and technical production services to the events and entertainment industries for over 30 years.

Having worked closely with DPL on various projects, it made it an obvious acquisition for ESL. As the event industry continues to recover from the pandemic, this is an exciting time for both companies to continue their expansion.

On the acquisition, Mike Glover (Managing Director of ESL) commented, "We are excited to bring the DPL name within the ESL Group. Darren Parker and DPL has an amazing amount of history and experience within the Rental production market including suppling Glastonbury festival for the last 10 years. The acquisition will enable us to offer a larger range of in-house production solutions to both existing and new clients. We will continue to invest in new rental equipment, in fact I have already signed off our first major investment in new equipment. This includes new grandMA3 consoles, Color STRIKE’s and a batch of IP-rated moving head fixtures, as well as additional video equipment. As part of the expansion, we are also looking to grow the existing team with additional project managers, LD’s and system technicians. I am really looking to the future and what we can achieve with DPL”.

Darren Parker will continue on with the company as Senior Project Manager and continue to run DPL on a day-to-day basis. Mike Glover becomes Managing director of DPL, with James Cobley also taking the role of Production Manager at DPL.

Darren Parker added to Mike’s comments - “This is an exciting next step for DPL. Having worked with Mike, James and the ESL team on multiple projects, there has been a clear synergy in our approach to live event production. Myself and the DPL team are looking forward to this merger.”

ESL were delighted to be back out at Maldon Promenade Park last weekend, proving full production services for In The Park Concerts and Raver Tots, with headliners including The Jacksons (with a surprise appearance from the legendary Janet Jackson) and Billy Ocean!
