Unfortunately we are unable to continue trading under the new Covid 19 lock-down restrictions. If you have an emergency please call 01772 811409 or email us at [email protected]. We will monitor the emails and pick up phone messages on a regular basis and will get back to you as soon as we can.

We will hopefully be open again on December 3rd.

We are now offering a pick-up, drop-off service for those who cannot make it to the shop. Please call us on 01772811409, and we will arrange for collection and delivery of your items. All interactions will follow social distancing guidelines.

RE-OPENING 15TH JUNE

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic, we have been closed since 23rd March. We are pleased to announce that we will be opening again on 15th June, while taking a number of steps to control the spread of the virus as best we can. The new measures we are taking are:

Limiting the number of customers in the shop to 2 at a time

Asking customers to stand in specified areas in order to maintain a 2 metre distance in line with social distancing guidelines

Asking customers to sanitise their hands, using the hand sanitiser provided, when entering and exiting the shop

Asking customers to place smaller items (laptops, tablets, phones) in boxes on the counter and larger items (desktops) straight on the counter for cleaning before we work on them

Installing a screen on one side of the counter for interactions between customers and staff

Ensuring staff wash or sanitise their hands before handling any devices and wash their hands thoroughly at least every half an hour

Asking customers to pay by contactless where possible and cleaning the keypad between card transactions

All devices will be sanitised before being returned

Requesting anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 does not enter the shop

Asking staff showing symptoms of COVID-19 to self-isolate

Due to the Coronavirus we have been forced to shut our shops in Formby, Ainsdale and Tarleton. We will be monitoring emails so if you need to get hold of us please email us on [email protected], and we will try to be as helpful as we can. We still have both new and refurbished laptops available, so please email if you need a machine.

With the impending self isolation we have been inundated with sales of laptops, webcams, and headphones. However we are now fully stocked with everything including refurbished laptops from £149.00. As they say "First Come First Serve!".

Windows 7 – End of Life
Well now we know - Microsoft has categorically stated that Windows 7 will no longer be supported. So folks if you stick with Microsoft Windows 10 is the way to go, as we always knew. This is important as some software suppliers have announced that they will not support their software on any other than Windows 10.
You have several options:
• Upgrade your machine to Windows 10 (Recommended)
• Buy a new Windows machine (if your machine is elderly)
• Use your Windows 7 machine and take on the security risk (Not recommended)
• Change to Apple Mac (If you have deep pockets and like the challenge of change)
• Install Linux (Definitely not recommended)
The latter 2 options call for a significant amount of learning and most of my few customers who have installed Linux have requested me to re-install Windows.

If you are still on Windows 7 there is still a “legal” loophole to install Windows 10 for free using your active Windows 7 licence. The pre-requirements to take this route are:-
• You must have a legal activated version of Window 7
• Your Windows 7 machine must be on Service Pack 1
• Your machine specification must meet the minimum Windows 10 requirements
• Any key applications you have sourced need to be checked that the can run on Windows 10 (most can)
If you take this route please ensure that you back up your data before running the conversion tool and ensure that you have appropriate software licences for any key applications you may have installed.

Free Business Networking event.

BNI Mariners are holding a free evening Network Meeting at the Ramada Hotel in Southport starting at 6.00pm on Thursday 9th May. There is food and drink laid on and the event should be over by 8.00pm. We are hoping for 40 to 50 local businesses to be in the room who are looking for contacts and business opportunities.
