New week, new client! After an attempted home Windows 11 upgrade failed my client reached out for assistance. On first look I suspected some hardware issues were at play and agreed to take the laptop home for further diagnosis and and hopefully repair
First issue was a corrupt/faulty hard drive, fortunately this machine had a second disk in it, with the faulty disk removed, a clean install was performed on the 2nd disk, Windows 11 installed fine however after some automatic updates the laptop display stopped working. Some further investigation showed that this particular laptop had a graphics card which was incompatible with new Windows. Another wipe and complete Windows 10 install, which although due to end support later in the year will still work and do what the client requires.
