✏️ Logo: it started with a pencil and a lot of ideas. We landed on a heritage serif for the family name, with a flame and a drop for what they do.

🪪 Business cards: bold, recognisable and built to be kept, with their OFTEC and Gas Safe accreditations front and centre.

🚐 Vehicle signage: every job, every journey, every school run, the brand is out working too.

🤝 FWT has been with us for more than 15 years, and this is the second website we've built for them. This time we also took on a full rebrand.

💧 Based in Shirenewton near Chepstow, FWT designs, installs and maintains water and heating systems for homes and light commercial sites across the UK. They handle boreholes, ground source heat pumps, private water supplies, UV units, water softeners and specialist treatment such as iron and manganese removal.

⚙️ The new site presents that wide range of services clearly. It puts FWT's bespoke system design and accreditations (IWater, NAPIT, WRAS and CSCS) front and centre, and it includes a document library so customers can find what they need quickly. Most importantly, it shows what makes FWT different: a small, experienced team that sees every project through, from the first survey to ongoing maintenance.

Bignell & Son is another long-standing client of more than 15 years, and this is also their second website with us. Like FWT, they've had a full rebrand as part of the project. 🎨

The Chepstow-based family business has been going for over 50 years and is now in its fourth generation. They offer oil and gas boiler installation, servicing and repairs, air source heat pumps, oil tank installations and general plumbing. They're also specialists in servicing AGA, Rayburn and Stanley range cookers. 🔧

✨ The new brand and site celebrate that family heritage while keeping things modern and practical. There's a gallery of recent work, a helpful FAQ section, a clear map of the areas they cover and an easy contact form. Most importantly, the site gets across the personal service and sensible prices Bignell & Son's customers have relied on for decades.

🤔 Why have a boring, flat AI generated website that looks like recent AI websites when you are an individual and your business is not a clone either?

🔍 Things to look for in an AI clone website:
• Tiny navigation headings, tiny logo.
• The sticky navigation wont work as you scroll down the page and the jumps to sections are always slightly off so the heading is obscured.
• They always use the same font and colours such as purple with gradients. 🎨

👀 What to also look for:
• The titles are too bold with too much letter spacing and loads of short sentences.
• Basically devoid of personality. 🤖

🖼️ Have fun spotting these bland, cloned websites just like the fun you can have spotting big companies saving money by generating AI posters with the over crowding look and use of heavy black everywhere.

⚠️ These aesthetic website clone disasters are new but quickly become recognisable as and not made by humans or definitely not by craftspeople. ✨
