We're excited to be producing September's Live Panel Webinar for Adaptive Fitness Training. Join us on 24th September at 7:30pm on YouTube Live.

This month's guest is Rachel Rutley - a physiotherapist with almost 35 years of neurological experience, specialising in Parkinson's for the past 14 years. She's a clinical academic at Keele University, leads exercise classes for her local Parkinson's group, and has completed research specifically into foot dystonia and its impact on gait. The combination of academic rigour and hands-on clinical practice makes for exactly the kind of guest our audience gets the most from - and she'll be doing a live exercise demonstration on the night too.

Chaos Created produces the AFT webinar series end-to-end, and these sessions have built up a wonderful community over the past several months.

✅ Live on YouTube with real-time Q&A
✅ 0.5 CIMSPA CPD points
✅ Free to attend

Suitable for Personal Trainers, Exercise Referral Instructors, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Strength and Conditioning Coaches and Sports Therapists.

Here's what makes Onwords unique.

Most teleprompters run at a fixed speed. You set it before the take, and then you spend the take matching a machine - a bit too fast on the technical paragraph, a bit too slow on the bit you know well.

Onwords listens instead. It works out where you are in the script and moves the text to keep up with you.

Stop mid-sentence for emphasis, and it stops. Fumble a word and go again, and it stays put rather than sailing on without you. Decide on the day to drop a paragraph, and it finds you a line later without anyone touching anything.

This is why we created Onwords. On our shoots and recordings, every other prompter we tried turned into a stop, scroll and reset loop. 🤯

Free 7-day trial, one payment rather than a subscription, and a launch discount running now.

Onwords is on the Microsoft Store as of today — the teleprompter we ended up building because the ones we were using kept getting in the way. 🎬🥳

Every other teleprompter scrolls at a fixed speed, so the presenter spends the whole take matching a machine. Onwords works the other way round. It listens, works out where you are in your script, and moves the text to match you. Pause for emphasis, and it waits. Fluff a line, and it stays with you. Skip a whole section because the last take covered it, and it finds you again within a sentence.

Speech is recognised on your own machine. No account, no cloud, no internet connection needed, and nothing you say or write ever leaves your computer.

The feature we're still most pleased with is that it handles two presenters. Assign lines to each one, Onwords colour-codes them on screen, and it follows whoever is talking — so a handover is something you see coming rather than something that catches you out. We built that for the two-hander videos we've been producing ourselves.

It's a one-off purchase rather than a subscription; there's a free 7-day trial, and there's a special launch discount running right now. Windows 10 and 11. A Mac version is coming.

We've just recorded another episode of Difficult Conversations, the podcast series we're producing for the University of Leicester's I-REACCH project. That's six episodes now. 🎙️

This one takes on "publish or perish", the relentless pressure academics feel to keep publishing, with Dr Ruoying Zhou.

Ruoying talked about how we mostly see other people's successes, the accepted papers, the funded grants, the promotions, while the setbacks stay hidden. Scroll any social platform and it's all wins, so we end up comparing our own behind-the-scenes to everyone else's highlight reel, and it's easy to feel you're falling behind. Her point that we need to normalise failure, and talk about the knock-backs as openly as the good news, is one that reaches far beyond academia.

Another honest, thoughtful conversation, hosted by K**e Ladipo, PhD, SFHEA and Gez Williams, PhD.

Six recorded, more on the way, and the series releasing later this year.

We spent the day back at the Institute for Policy at the University of Leicester, filming the latest round of their Policy Briefs series: one-minute videos that distil a researcher's briefing paper into something anyone can watch and understand, helping to amplify their incredible work.

This shoot was special for another reason: it was the first proper field test of Onwords, our new voice-following teleprompter app (https://onwords.app) that we've been building over the summer. A full day of real presenters, real scripts and real filming conditions (complete with construction noise!) was far more valuable than any amount of testing at the desk with a podcast microphone. We gathered a ton of data, and it's already fed straight back into improving the voice tracking, particularly for the trickier setups where the screen or microphone isn't directly in front of the speaker.

And the films themselves were a joy to work on, as always. We recorded Emily Wertans and Dr Amy Clarke on tackling hate crime, Matt Hopkins on corrosive attacks, Raúl González Muñoz on EU cooperation in space, and Lorena Rosen on shift working. Every one of them was wonderful in front of the camera, and it was fascinating to hear each researcher talk through their work and why it matters. We're really looking forward to getting these edited together. 🎬

Huge thanks (as ever) to Neil Chakraborti, Catherine Parry, Jack Willoughby and the whole Institute for Policy team, and to all the researchers who gave up their day. More to come very soon.

Every other teleprompter makes you match its pace.

Onwords matches yours. It listens, works out where you are in your script, and keeps your line centred on screen. Pause for emphasis and the text just... waits.

No clicker. No operator sitting off-camera. No guessing.

Windows 10 and 11, coming soon to the Microsoft Store. Other platforms on the way.

New app inbound! 🎬👀🎙️

Over the past year, we've produced a lot of podcasts and social media videos, and so many of them involve a presenter reading from a script. We tried plenty of teleprompter apps along the way, but they all either required a subscription or fell short of what we needed (scrolling at a fixed speed, for example, or getting screwy the moment a presenter ad-libbed or improvised). And they'd fall apart completely with two hosts.

So we built the app we actually wanted to use. It's called Onwords. It's now in submission and coming soon.

https://onwords.app

Onwords is a teleprompter that listens to you and follows your voice, rather than making you keep up with it. Pause, and it waits. Stumble over a line or ad-lib, and it stays with you. Skip a whole section, and it catches up. You speak at whatever pace suits the material, and the script keeps pace with you.

Because it uses the built-in speech engine in Windows, it runs entirely on your own machine. No account, no subscription, no internet connection needed, and nothing you say or write ever leaves your computer. It's Windows-only for now (but we'll look at a Mac/iOS version in the future).

One feature we're especially pleased with is that it handles two presenters. On some of the videos we've produced for the University of Leicester's Institute for Policy, we've had more than one person reading, and a normal teleprompter really struggles with that (or the hosts struggle to see which lines are theirs!). Onwords lets you assign lines to each presenter, colour-codes them on screen, and follows whoever is talking, so handovers are something you see coming rather than catching presenters out.

It's in submission now, so it won't be long. If you'd like a nudge when it lands, join our mailing list below.

Something new is coming soon from Chaos Created. 👀

Some of the best things we make start with our own annoyances.

We kept hitting the same problem on our own video shoots, something you'd assume someone must have solved by now. Turns out, not quite the way we wanted (close, but with flaws). So we built it ourselves.

Not ready to say more yet, but it won't be long.

Last week, the Chaos Created team produced August's Adaptive Fitness Training Live Panel Webinar, "My Client has MS: What Do I Need to Know?", streamed live on YouTube with real-time audience Q&A running throughout.

This one brought together two incredible guests.

Rhiannon Kelland, MS Specialist Physiotherapist and author of AFT's Becoming an MS Pro course, gave the clinical grounding: what MS actually is, the different types, and the symptoms that shape exercise prescription most, from fatigue and heat intolerance to spasticity and balance, with practical strategies for programming and progressing safely.

Alongside her, Megan Boxall brought lived experience from the very top of endurance sport. Diagnosed with MS in 2024, Megan is the fastest woman to run the entire coastline of Great Britain, 200 marathons in 204 days, and she joined us straight off a flight, having finished running the Camino de Santiago that same morning!

It was an incredible evening, and a really inspiring conversation. We had an active audience participating in the live chat throughout, with questions arriving from across the UK and as far afield as China. For those watching live, the session also carried half a CIMSPA CPD point.

The community around these sessions keeps growing, with familiar faces back each month and new ones joining all the time. Huge thanks to Rhiannon, Megan and the whole AFT team.

Next up: Thursday 24th September, on dystonia in Parkinson's. Free to attend and open for registration now on the AFT website.

Episode 6 of Shaking It Up with Parkinson's is out now - and we're so incredibly excited to share this one. It's incredibly special. 🎙️

Hosts Maria Lewis and Vicky Rees-Davies sat down with broadcaster Jeremy Vine and his sister, Sonya. Their father had Parkinson's - and Sonya's husband Chris was diagnosed at 34, just two months after their wedding. Two diagnoses. One family. And two people who speak about it with such honesty, warmth, humour and love.

Sonya is extraordinary. Eighteen years in, she speaks about life with Chris with humour, practicality and a fierce love that comes through in every word - and she has a remarkable amount of practical advice for anyone walking a similar road. Jeremy is no bystander in this story either - he lost his father to Parkinson's, he watches his sister every day, and he speaks with such honesty about the impact Parkinson's has had on their entire family.

This is the episode for everyone who loves someone with Parkinson's. Huge thanks to Jeremy, Sonya, Maria and Vicky, and to Parkinson's UK for powering the show. ✨
