I’ve had a few people ask me why I’ve changed my name from Hand and Palm to Sun Made Studio so here are 5 reasons:

1. I created the name when I first started sketching (hand drawn palms, hands and other things) so I used this name to start insta and hopefully sell some of them, initially with no intention for it to become anything bigger.

2. My work continues to evolve as I discover and have fun with my style but the root and vibe is always the same, I feel Sun Made Studio expresses my ethos better.

3. Hand and Palm started to feel restrictive to other avenues I want to explore and didn’t make sense or felt odd paired with them.

4. I’m not a Palm reader (although would love to have the knowledge and confidence to do this) I would get asked in the shop about this quite a lot.

5. I don’t sell soap either, this one was quite strange but happened a couple of times, being asked while they stood in my shop surrounded by art and clothes ‘so what type of soap do you sell?’ 😶

and while I don’t usually let others influence me these last two tipped me over the edge 😂😅

This hasn’t been a quick decision, it’s been playing on my mind for a long time and now just felt right 🌞 I’m still getting everything transferred over (more than I realised!) but it’s been worth it for the spark it’s given me and the positive reaction from everyone 💛

JANUARY round up

I’ve decided I want to try and do these each month, to give myself a bit of time to reflect on the month that’s just been. Not trying to race ahead all the time. So here’s a few things from my January, a hard month but not the hardest I’ve ever had, I was mindful to be kinder to myself, allow myself to rest, pause and play when I needed. Make time for the people I love and make space for new and exciting projects.

Bo****ks to Blue Monday. Depression doesn’t know what day it is, it doesn’t follow a calendar.

January can be heavy, I feel that deeply. Seasonal depression hits hard for me sometimes and some days are just about getting through, which is totally ok!

My no danger just love is a reminder that even when things feel hard and overwhelming, you can find softness around you or within. Hold loved ones a little closer, do something just for you, be kinder to yourself, softer with each other and remind yourself it’s simply another day of existing on this strange, beautiful planet. 🦀💛

CLOTHES and other lovely things will be taking over the entire Hand and Palm shop this Saturday 24 Jan, 11-4

Expect to find new and preloved men’s and women’s clothes, shoes and accessories at very reasonable prices!

All part of my big clear out before giving the shop a little refresh, ready for a lovely year.

Today I emptied my little shed shop…
and filled it with all the lovely things from my studio I no longer need or have space for. It’s a random mix of craft supplies, samples, prints, clothing, fabrics, homeware and display stands. All ready to find a new home this Sunday 18th Jan. This event is ticketed to keep it chilled and fair. Book your time slot via the website and come fill a bag for £20 (furniture and larger items extra and individually priced)

Mystery Bags are back!!! ✨

As so many of you loved these last year I’ve put together 20 mystery bags filled with lovely Hand and Palm goodies. From greetings cards to prints, accessories to stickers and more! Some even have hand drawn originals in 😱 each bag is £20 with the contents being worth at least £30.

All 20 bags will be shipped from 19th Jan (ooh what an exciting mid Jan pick me up!)

Hold your horses…
I just want to say the biggest thank you to every single one of you who chose to shop small, support Hand and Palm, share kind words, buy prints, send messages, show up at the shop (and online) this year. It honestly means more than I can put into words.

If I’m being honest, this year has been a bit of an odd one. Highs, lows, moments of feeling really proud, moments of questioning everything. But here we are, another year done, Hand and Palm is still going, I’m still creating, still standing in my little shed shop. Knowing that I get to do all this again for another year feels like a huge win!

My word for next year is steady. No big leaps, no rushing into new projects, just sitting tight with what I have, taking care of it, expanding on it and making it better.

Which feels quite fitting really, because 2026 is the Year of the Horse, with the fire element behind it, and for me that doesn’t mean rushing or burning myself out, but showing up with confidence, trusting my creative instincts and putting focused, grounded energy into what already exists, driving it all forward by a controlled fire, not chaos.

So here’s to steady steps, embracing small joys, thoughtful making, with a lot of gratitude for you lot who make this whole thing possible. I can’t wait to see what 2026 brings 💛🙌✨
