These laptops will be used by our IPS team, helping clients access training, build skills and move closer to future employment opportunities.

We want to extend a sincere thank you to Improving Lives Plymouth for the amazing work you do within our community. It’s an honour to support a charity that makes such a positive impact, and we truly appreciate all that you do for vulnerable people within our community.

We wanted to take a moment to say thank you and to recognise a partnership that has been genuinely appreciated.

This year marks 7 years of working with Electrotek Solutions Ltd, and since 2018, Rob and Kirry have consistently gone above and beyond. From donating desktops for our Better Futures clients, to supplying laptops during the Covid lockdowns so isolated carers could stay connected, they’ve provided technology that has been a real lifeline for many people.

What has always stood out is their genuine interest in the local community, their attention to detail, and their willingness to find solutions rather than take the easy route.

All these years later, we’re still receiving reliable support and good advice, and that really does say a lot.

A huge thank you to Kirry from Electrotek Solutions Ltd for kindly meeting with Esme Curtis and donating a laptop to support one of our clients through our IPS Employment Programme!

Having access to a laptop means he can now complete online courses to build meaningful skills, actively search for jobs, and stay in touch with potential employers, something that was very difficult to do on a phone.

This generous gift opens up so many opportunities for his future.

Our friends at The Barn Owl Trust at Newton Abbot are striving to conserve and protect the barn owls here in Devon by ensuring our local environment provides these beautiful creatures the habitats and sustainable biodiversity they need. They do a huge amount of practical conservation work and hands on rescue/rehabilitation, but they also run training courses and educational programs, conduct essential research, work with developers & landowners to conserve the owls habitats and so much more. But crucially, they raise the funds so all these projects can happen. Technology is expensive, and for charities like The Barn Owl Trust, when faced with the Windows 11 migration, this can mean either ‘making do’ or ‘making a dent’ in funds destined for conservation projects. So we offered a little technological assistance, with a donation of computers, laptops, monitors, new keyboards & mice (not for owl consumption) that they need to keep their offices up to date technology wise. We love working on projects like this. Reducing the impact of advancements in technology on the environment and helping our clients get to net zero is what we do. But it’s not just about that. It’s about ensuring that what we do, and how we do it, benefits our local community and environment. We were only too pleased so send Kate & Mary at Axminster and Lime Cancer Support, some laptops and mobile phones to assist them with supporting their service users and facilitate their fundraising. Our fantastic partnership with Delt Shared Services Ltd enables us to donate their end of life equipment as well as funds to many local charities.

Axminster and Lyme Cancer Support aims to provide support for everyone living with and beyond cancer. We offer regular friendly meetings both in Axminster and Lyme Regis so support and information can be accessed locally.

What a wonderful start to our week! We had the privilege of donating some HP ProBooks to Fiona from the Horticultural Therapy Trust today so all their staff could have a dedicated laptop to help manage their rapidly expanding projects.

‘Horticultural Therapy Trust works through the therapeutic medium of Horticulture, with young people and children to support emotional and social wellbeing; support the learning of new skills and development of existing skills; enjoyment; achievements and freedom from daily pressures.
We work with children and young people who experience challenges in their daily lives. We provide a calm, empathic, nurturing, fulfilling and active environment, with choice of activities, for those who experience issues, pressures and disadvantage; providing space simply to ‘Be and Enjoy’. As well as within HTT allotment gardens, we facilitate creation of gardens together for wildlife and people within schools, areas of disadvantage, or homeless centres’

Our amazing partnership with Delt Shared Services Ltd enables us to help local charities like Shekinah with both funds and equipment as well as saving the planet through sustainable recycling initiatives ♻️

Last week, we visited Electrotek Solutions Ltd where they handed a donation of £5,221.56 to Andy from Shekinah.

For over five years, Delt has partnered with Electrotek, a Plymouth-based IT recycling company that ensures old devices are securely and sustainably disposed of. Their approach focuses on “Refurbish & Reuse”, which not only reduces environmental impact but also supports local charities.

A percentage of the resale value of equipment goes to good causes nominated by their partners, and this time, that meant over £5,000 going to our nomination, Shekinah.

Shekinah provides vital support to people facing homelessness, addiction and mental health struggles across the South West. Hearing first-hand from Andy about the challenges people face and the life-changing work Shekinah does was both heartbreaking and inspiring.

Andy from Shekinah shared:
"We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Electrotek and Delt Shared Services for their incredible fundraising efforts in support of Shekinah. Your generosity and commitment to making a difference are truly inspiring. The money raised will go directly towards areas of Shekinah that do not receive full funding, ensuring that essential services remain available to those who need them most. Your support helps us to continue providing assistance to those experiencing homelessness, offering accommodation and employment support as well as health and wellbeing and training initiatives."

Electrotek has been a fantastic partner in managing our IT waste, and we’re proud to work with a company that puts sustainability and social impact at the heart of what they do. Their commitment goes beyond recycling and ensures that IT equipment is accessible to those who need it most and directly supporting local charities.

Kirry from Electrotek explained:
"Our company ethos is making IT accessible to all, so donating equipment to local charities who find the costs prohibitive is very important to us. However, charities like Shekinah also need funds to continue the fantastic work they do in our city. Homelessness is a growing problem, particularly through the cost-of-living crisis. Some of the service users’ stories Andy shared with us are both heartbreaking and scary, as homelessness can happen to anyone. We have supported Shekinah for a number of years and love that through the support of our partners, we not only can donate them equipment but also much-needed funds."

At Delt, we’re proud to play a role in this partnership and the difference it makes.

Well done Erin!

We’re pleased to share a story of community spirit and generosity that touched us here at Delt.

Over the weekend, Erin Evershed, a volunteer at Elburton Heights Care Home in Plymstock, held a sponsored head shave and raffle event to raise funds for the care home’s Activities Team. Her determination to make a difference, despite facing her own health challenges, is inspiring.

In an amazing connection, our partners at Electrotek Solutions Ltd found Erin’s story through a local community page and were eager to help. As they shared:

“We reached out to her to see if we could help her cause, as dementia care is something very close to our hearts as a family business. To be honest, Erin’s incredible attitude just floored me. She’s a truly remarkable young lady. The world needs more Erins!”
