A new 1:24 scale RC build
It’s an FMS FCX24M Land Rover 90, it started out as a yellow top heavy blob that tipped over every time you tried to drive up even a gentle slope.
I took a hacksaw to it and converted it into a pickup cab 90. After a lot of filling and sanding and a complete paint job it started to look a little more realistic. I made a cloth cover for the pickup bed, then made some mud guards.
The hardest part was fitting some tiny micro LED’s for the rear lights and number plate light.
It climbs really well now that a lot of weight has been removed from the top.

This is an FMS FCX24 Power Wagon 1:24 scale rock crawler. I started with a stock blue version then added a pickup bed to it before getting into painting. I wanted it to look its age, as it’s based on a 1949ish Dodge Power Wagon. It needed to look like a hard working truck that’s been kept running because it’s needed on the farm. I need to make an interior for it and some tail lights then I think it will be done ☑️

This is FMS FCX24 K5 Chevrolet Blazer 1:24 scale rock crawler.
I didn’t like the shiny plastic toy look when I got it, so I decided to give it a paint job. Then I got distracted and cut a rear cab window then made clear windows for the rest of the truck. Then it needed an interior and some more lights as it only came with headlights. I found some micro LED’s that are about 1mm diameter and used one to make the number plate light and dashboard light.

The rust is real, I added iron powder onto damp primer then applied chipping solution where I wanted the rust to come through. After applying the colour coat I scuffed the paint and applied a hydrogen peroxide,vinegar and lemon juice solution all over and left it overnight to rust. It’s the first time I’ve done this process but I think it’s worked out really well. I washed off the solution with soapy water.
The truck continues to rust slowly which just adds to the effect

A whole day free to work on the PKD Blaster from Blade Runner. I’ve made a mould of the grips and cast them in resin, I’ve also made a mould of the magazine and will be casting that in resin too, I need it to be hollow for all the electronics to fit into it

This weekend I built a Noisy Cricket from M.I.B.
I started with 3D printed kit from Cloisters3DProps on Etsy. I did some modifications cutting parts away so I could fit some LED’ in there. The main chamber is removable and held in place with some tiny magnets. This gives me access to the battery and the on off switch

Adding some colour and a coat of gloss ready for panel wash and weathering. Then I’ll finish with a coat of Matt varnish
