If you are working towards your Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) qualification, there are significant updates this year that may impact your study plan.
Effective 3rd November 2026, ISACA is updating the CISM Job Practice Outline. This isn't just a minor tweak, it introduces entirely new content areas, including Enterprise and Information Security Architecture, and places a much heavier weighting on Security Strategy.
What does this mean for you?
With new technical domains added, this includes understanding structural architecture and how it integrates with business capabilities.
A strategic shift and a greater focus on board-level alignment and organisational resilience.
If you already have study materials, your current revision guides and QAE databases will be replaced with new versions from 1 September.
