Windows 10 & Windows 11
To everyone concerned with the End of Life date for Windows 10. If you are running Windows 10 your machine will continue to run normally past the October 14th date. Your machine will however stop recieving security updates from Microsoft unless your system is enrolled in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program which will allow Windows 10 to continue to recieve updates for another year giving you time to switch to Windows 11 if your device can support it or move to a new device capable of running Windows 11. I can help and assist with what ever you plan to do. Please feel free to contact me. It is a very busy time right now but I will get to everyone in turn.
As a reminder, Windows 10 will reach the end of support on October 14, 2025.
At this point technical assistance, feature updates and security updates will no longer be provided. If your device can support Windows 11 I recommend a clean install of Windows 11 on your device. If your device does not meet the technical requirements to run Windows 11, I recommend that you enroll in the Windows 10 Consumer Extended Security Updates (ESU) program or replace the device with one that supports Windows 11.
What are my options for staying supported on a Windows operating system?
Installing Windows 11 on your current PC - If your PC meets the minimum system requirements for Windows 11 and is eligible to upgrade directly to Windows 11, you might have already received a notification about upgrading. While upgrades from 10 to 11 direct can be achieved I do not recomend it. A clean install of Windows 11 would make you device run alot smoother and with less possible problems than can come from upgrading.
New PC with Windows 11 - If your PC is not eligible, or if you want a new PC with Windows 11 pre-installed, you might want to start by exploring the latest Windows 11 PCs.
Extended Security Updates (ESU) program - If you need more time before moving to a new Windows 11 device, the consumer Extended Security Updates (ESU) program can protect your Windows 10 device up to a year after October 14, 2025.
